I am down with this....guy will be without a job looking to redeem himself as a head coach. UM has to be more attractive than NFL D coordinator....NYJ lowballed the salary cap this yr and gave the guy a crappy roster....come to UM with a loaded talent pool and unleash the aggression.....Last NYJ coach to college seemed to turn out well.

Cutcliffe would do amazingly well with South Florida talent. I'd worry about the defense, but our offense would be the best in the country with consistent top 10 recruiting classes.

Interesting dark horse, which I've posted about before a few weeks back, is Justin Fuente at Memphis. His record is unimpressive as an HC, but there is more than meets the eye there. He took over Memphis when it was bar none the worst program in D1. He now has Memphis getting votes in the top 25 poll, and he just spanked Cincy @ Cincy by 27. We'll get a idea of how Miami stacks up with Cincy this weekend.
 
Mark Stoops and bring in DJ Eliot as the DC. We can afford both.

This season, FSU ranks second nationally in total defense (253.8 yards per game), fifth in rushing defense (93 ypg) and seventh in scoring defense (15.1 points per game). In each of Eliot's first two years on the job, FSU ranked among the nation's top 10 teams in sacks and the top 25 in tackles for loss.

If we want to shell out the 4M/ year for 5 years I think we could have our pick. Other then money reasons:

1. Brad Kaaya
2. Facilities have been upgraded enough
3. Sun life renovation in year 2
4. S. Fl recruiting
5. It's the Mother ****** U

Anyone of these guys give us instant credibility and a will put fear in opposing coaches hearts.

Stoops wouldn't cost 4 Million. His base is a little over 2M now.
