What's your short list look like? Golden replacements

You guys are crazy thinking UM could afford Stoops. It would mean UM would have to pay: (1) the balance or buyout on Golden's contract + (2) Stoops' buyout + (3) Stoops' new multi-million contract. Two words...not happening.

For many reasons, Butch might be the right hire. Not the least of which is money since he is currently unemployed in the coaching profession.

How much money does Miami bring in from football each year? Please let us know.

GoldenShowers: I don't know. Do you?

Here's what I do know, however. Revenue from the football program supports not only the football team but the majority of the remaining athletic programs. To imply that Blake can simply use the football revenue to fund all of these buyouts is misguided.

I want a coach who has a chip on their shoulder and sees the Miami job as a way to destroy anyone who gets in their way and is aggressive to the point of controversy, don't care who it is....

Basically the opposite of Al KoTIEte....

Aggressive xs and os, aggressive recruiting, etc....

No more passive BS....

Again you are using hindsight to justify your view. Coordinator hires at AU have worked historically. They have failed repeatedly here. Why would you follow a blueprint for failure? Randy won a ring with Miami as DC and had a top 10 d every freaking year. He did everything that Pruitt or Kirby has done, and more than Narduzzi, Chad Morris, or Scott Frost. There is no way to know how a coordinator will do as an executive. The risk is not worth it at this point in time. What is so difficult about understanding this?

BECAUSE WE HIRED THE WRONG ONES. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THIS OR NO?

Gus Malzahn had been a head coach for as many years as Pruitt's been employed by the time he was hired by Auburn. I just...whatever.

Congrats, you missed my whole post. Do you get the point? Not saying you have to agree but do you understand?

Battle of the D-Coors..

Kirby or Narduzzi

Give the edge to Kirby -- Kirby known for his defensive acumen is actually a pretty good recruiter

And he would probably want the job.

Classic ADAP.

Please tell us the buyout for Golden. Tell us the terms of Stoop's Contract as well.

And how can you determine the qualities of a wrong one versus a right one? What clairvoyance do you have? What experience and pedigree does Jeremy Pruitt possess that Kiffin, Norm Chow, Muschamp, Chizick, Shannon, Mike Stoops, Amato, Chavis and on and on??? And those are just the failed HCs who actual won rings as coordinators......There's also the Mark Richts, the David Cutcliffes, the Maginos, the Cokers who while they accomplished somethings had a lot of mediocrity and worse to go with it.

Half the dudes that cats on here suggest arent even championship coordinators. WTF has Chad Morris, or Frost, or even Narduzzi won??

Guys in their early 40s with no HC experience and no NFL exposure are overall a disaster here. I don't give a **** how they far at Auburn with their million dollar coordinators, steroid handouts, and boosters buying recruits. It doesn't ******* work here. Follow what works, it's not that hard.

I understand you just fine. Just because Malzahn and Pruitt both coached in high school at one point has nothing to do with what I'm saying. Malzahn was a head coach at various high schools and won big. ****, we could hire Gerry Faust..he was great at Moeller. None of it changes my point that the University of Miami should not be a training ground for a guy to try his hat at seeing if he can run a program.

End the thread right here. Can't believe we have fans that don't get this by now.

So now that we see coaching in HS isnt the worst thing?

No clue. But, c'mon...Golden has 5 years left and Stoops is in Year 2 of a 5 year deal and currently makes $2.1 million, plus incentives. Surely, both contracts contain buyouts. That will cost the University several millions before paying Stoops a single dollar.

I can can see the Universify focusing its efforts on current assistants without long term contracts or former head coaches that are currently unemployed. It will save them a significant amount of money. It's a plausible scenario especially for an institution that historically is frugal with its athletic spending.

It makes Butch's candidacy that much more attractive.

Check this post. Be part of the solution (i.e. reasoning and logic).

You want reasoning and logic on a message board? LOL.

You want only facts and only those with first-hand knowledge to post and contribute to finding a solution? It's a freakin' internet message board. By definition it is full of conjecture, unsubstantiated facts and opinion. That why we visit the site.

Do do you really think agents and lawyers or BOT members are suddenly going to chime in and provide perspective?
