What's the worst that can happen?

I agree with doing a extensive search and hire the best coach possible. That being said and I hope I don't get demerits from the mods for this but anyone who advocates Mario in any capacity to Miami is one of these

Sorry, I mistakenly thought that statement was so ridiculous that nobody in their right mind would take it seriously.

Tell these fools!

These kids aren't going to stand around sucking their thumbs waiting for Miami to make up it's mind. These kids have their careers to think about and can't afford to gamble on anything.
 
I agree Dynasty. .. it may behoove them to be patient...but we are talking about 18 year old young men that could be making the most important decision of their life ... a coach is more important than any recruit. ..we all know..but if you don't realize that a large number of games are won on national signing day then you are out of touch... UM is not as rich on talent as we would like to think..we need reruits...all that we can get our hands on
Regardless who is coaching. ..Coaching being the key word...we need one and soon..

Aren't we better off with an experienced Coach and one willing to groom his eventual replacement in Cristobal. As you said we could save our recruiting class and possibly add to the class right away.

I know you're personally invested in this, but we can't rush this hire for the sake of a few EEs.
 
None of the coaches that Miami might realistically land are going any where. That's how come Miami has a shot at them.
 
As for recruiting, I'm nervous about kids decommiting too. But the flip side is that they can recommit just as fast as they left.

Just sign Butch already. It's not like there aren't going to ever be any more "up and coming" coaches to hire once Butch has righted the ship and removed the stench of losing culture from the program.

Its not rushing anything. The Boosters have made it perfectly clear that they're going to hire Chud, Cristobal or Butch.

Theres no Herman, Fuente, Jackson, Strong, Dantonio, Patterson, or any other big name we toss around on here.

They've let it leak to enough people that we catch wind of it in the Herald and from admins on this site that they are not interested in making a thorough informed decision, and have zeroed in on the people who are actively campaigning for the job.

So wait for what? So they can anounce Cristobal in January? I dont understand what we should be waiting for.

Please explain further then "we need to do this right, and hire a home run." Yeah, no ****. Offer some evidence that they're planning on searching further than 20 feet away from the Hecht.
 
The whole class could decommit for all i care if we Get Herman. He will take us to the top in time.
