He was such a bad coach he might have gone 10-2 with that squad. Coker at least took until the Peach Bowl vs LSU to ruin the program.

9-3, with that hot gahbage of a Defense! "Men. Don't rise to the occasion. Trust your training". "Be a McDonald's cheeseburger. They're good because they're consistent."

They would have still won if he doesn't change anything
Mainly because they were 12-1 the year before...He would be stepping into a team trending up, unlike he did in 2011 when the team was trending down AND they got hit with sanctions. Don't think any coach could mess up the leadership on that team...though can't say if the team does as much after that year

That's why choker was a great coach for that team. He left them alone. No micromanaging. Goldilocks would have found a way to lose. There would have been a lot of suspensions.

Dodgeball. He would have had them playing dodgeball during practice. Maybe take them to the movie theater afterward to see Shrek or A Beautiful Mind. Bonding promotes better Wefense.

The problem is that we know Golden would have changed the defense. Now don't get me wrong -- this notion that Larry freaking Coker was the only football coach in America who could have led that team to a national championship is absolutely absurd, but Golden probably would have f*cked it up by implementing that horrible defensive scheme.

We definitely would have lost to BC, because Ed Reed would have been sitting in favor of a coal shoveler. Matt Walters, on the other hand...Golden would have loved that dude.

9-3. Those guys on the other team are on scholarship to. They need to understand the things we need to do to get things done. Unity beats adversity.

Three summarizations from the last 3 coaches. It's a modern miracle we still play organized Div 1 football and the ACC didn't kick us out.

Amen. Nobody would have ever heard of Ed Reed. Too much freelancing for Al. The greatest safety ever would have ridden the pine. Most of that defense would have ended up 4th round picks at best instead of 3 dbs going in 1st round. Big Daddy might have been the only guy Golden liked -- he could have been the NT Al always needed. Add 35 lbs to each LB and well, they probably suck too.

The real question is "what would Hitler have done with the 2002 team?".

Personally I think he would have won the title AND occupied France.

as bad as a coach golden was, imo he was an even worse person. he caused divide, threw players under the bus, lied, he was more creative at making excuses than schemes, he used BC rumors his first year to get an extension, tried to sneak to PSU, etc. guy was a horrible person and Im so glad he is gone.

A more interesting question would be what would those players have done to Folden if he tried to implement his incompetent schemes. Would have been very entertaining.

I think there would be a higher chance of sean taylor or dj williams knocking him the **** out and being forced to transfer rather than folden make everyone trust the process

Clinton Portis would've been moved to full back. Vilma would've been bulked up to 275 pounds and moved to DE. Ed Reed never would've played because he "freelanced" too much.
