He was such a bad coach he might have gone 10-2 with that squad. Coker at least took until the Peach Bowl vs LSU to ruin the program.
The problem is that we know Golden would have changed the defense. Now don't get me wrong -- this notion that Larry freaking Coker was the only football coach in America who could have led that team to a national championship is absolutely absurd, but Golden probably would have f*cked it up by implementing that horrible defensive scheme.They would have still won if he doesn't change anything
Mainly because they were 12-1 the year before...He would be stepping into a team trending up, unlike he did in 2011 when the team was trending down AND they got hit with sanctions. Don't think any coach could mess up the leadership on that team...though can't say if the team does as much after that year
We definitely would have lost to BC, because Ed Reed would have been sitting in favor of a coal shoveler. Matt Walters, on the other hand...Golden would have loved that dude.
