What were your best moments watching the Canes with your father (or as a father)?

Unfortunately my father wasn't into sports and was sick a lot of my childhood. Thank god I had a brother who was a major sports junkie and also happen to go to the U. He had me around sports all the time wether playing or going to games. Because of him we've been season ticket holders for The U and the Dolphins for 43 years. Season ticket holder for Marlins during both Championships and went to a ton of Heat games. He basically took over as my father figure.

Best moments with him.

The 85 bears game when Marino went off and we won.

84 game against Nebraska.

Watching Roger Clemons throw a fastball to Miguel Cabrera and Miggy smashing over the wall right in front of us as we went on to spank the Yanks!!
That 85 bears game must have been lit. I keep hearing from folks that the 89 ND game abs 85 bears game were the loudest games ever at the OB

Real dad
Orange Bowl vs Nebraska 92 or 93
Ray Ray went crazy as a freshman

Step dad
Any game at the OB with Irvin

As a Dad
Sadly no great games. 2016 uva.

First and only game I’ve ever been to with my dad. Admittedly we watched the final two minutes from the tunnel because we were both SCORCHED by the sun.

I was at this game but with my brother. Epic!

2004 Orange Bowl with my dad. Saw Big Vince with the bowl of oranges on the TV in the stadium afterwards!

i moved to miami and started school in 89. my parents retired in the northeast and moved 3 blocks away in gables in 1999. got an extra season ticket for pops in 2000. will never forget "the drive". its was hot, humid, not a cloud in the sky to block the sun, the orange bowl ran out of liquids before the first half, no beer, no water, no soda. nada. nobody gave a ****. nobody sat in their seats entire second half. when dorsey hit shockey in the endzone, we hugged a hug so memorable, i got a tear in my eye as i write this. no homo.

1) 2009 Labor Day weekend being at FSPoo. Dad is an FSPoo fan too

2) 2012 at GT with the comeback victory in OT

3) 2011 OSU at Miami. We live in Ohio (and I went to OSU). It felt so good walking around campus in my Miami gear!

Yes and Yes. ND game might have been louder. I can say without a doubt that 2017 ND game was very close to those as far as loudest games.

Nice. My good friend was a ball boy for that 89 game. Had a headache after the game but man, what memories.

So many with my Dad, but probably the 1988 FSU game when they were preseason #1 and we beat the brakes off of them and with my son it was easily the 2017 ND game, what an amazing experience.

My greatest memory was when my dad was in the hospital basically in hospice care. He was in and out of conciseness so I went to youtube and turned on the 2017 Miami vs FSU game. He immediately dialed into the game and it was pretty much the last time I got to have a conversation with the real him. He passed a couple of days later and I will always remember that moment we had.

My dad was a very casual Canes fan so I don't have any memories watching with him.

But my son is already a die hard. He's 10. He's been to a bunch of games already but my favorite moment is waking him up at 3 am against Cal after X caught that long pass. Little guy fought off sleep that night as hard as he could but fell asleep on the couch at some point only to be woken up by me screaming that he had to tune in for the final few minutes.

He's already looking forward to ND. That'll be the biggest game he's been to thus far.

So many but what stands out was him taking me to my first Canes game in 1983 vs. Purdue. I was 6 years old and barely understood football but I was hooked. We saw Hail Flutie, the '91 championship OB game, so many others.

****, I'm really lucky to say there are a lot of them to actually rank. We had season tickets in the OB for a long time, and were fortunate to attend a lot of games together.

But I would probably say as soon as Bandy broke on that pick six and the couple minutes that ensued. A game is never totally over in the first half, but that one was about at sealed as it could possibly be, and it really felt like we might be "back". So, I'm 43 and have a lot of memories from my younger years of incredible Cane moments, but most of those were in the glory years and it almost felt expected, if that makes sense? The ND game/Bandy moment was a lot of years of frustration coming out.

I remember sitting directly next to him, and YELLING literally as loud as I possibly could, right into his ear. He looked at me and shrugged. Couldn't hear a word. If we were in a quiet room, I'd have probably put him into the hospital with how loud I was screaming into his ear, but in that moment, he couldn't make out a single syllable. That's how ******* loud it was. Simply incredible, and one I'll never forget.

A couple honorable mentions of watching with him in person:

2000 watching Shockey beat FSU
2002 Wide Left
2003 Kevin Beard to go up 38-33 against the Gator
1998 Miami 49 UCLA 45 (still to this day one of the top 3 most fun games I've ever watched in person)

Wide Right I,II,III

Rose Bowl over Nebraska

So many good ones to count. He had season tickets since I was 10 (1986 until 2010).

Miami Michigan 88. As we just iced it my dad tapped the wolverines fans in front of us on the shoulders and said, “go blue.” They had been chanting that at us the whole game.
Rose bowl and “94 FSU too.

“No blocky” is one of the most iconic lines in Orange Bowl history. I remember driving through the neighborhoods surrounding the OB and hearing the residents hollering that phrase and LMAO.

I post about this memory all the time. My father coached Trajan Bandy when he was a 65 lber at Suniland. I got him tickets to go to the ND game at the rock in 2017. This photo was taken right after Trajan's pick 6

For me, it was 2000 win over FSU in the West End Zone with my dad.

As a father, it was watching the Cal comeback with my kids in Berkeley.
We have been going for 30 years with our 6 kids and too many to count specifically. With our 3 older kids the fsu come back and ucla game stand out at the orange bowl. The younger 3 I would say the ND game and game day was a key moment at hard rock. Now attending with grand kids and our youngest so hopefully some more memories to come. Side note my girlfriend at the time and now wife fell in love with canes at a mark light Regional come back many years ago. She wasn’t a baseball fan but I was so she wanted to go and we stayed the weekend. Rest is history as they say.
