What was with the field last night?

Probably more than you want to know, but it was a turf management product called Tenacity. It will turn undesirable cultivars white/yellow by preventing the plant from making chlorophyll. That’s why the field appeared blotchy.

It should have been used earlier but from what I saw on tv much of the field had fresh sod because I could see the lines where they laid it. The product could have been applied before the sod was laid at the stadium.
Wow the rare CIS reply with value 😂

Quick question if you don't mind.

There's this obnoxious UF/FSU household two doors down.

What's a quick and surreptitious method for killing their entire front lawn?

Maybe we should just allow the plant to make it and then use it to our advantage

Normally you’d just spray Round Up on it with a tank sprayer, but with the influx of households installing residential and doorbell cameras the industry has resorted to filling balloons and long range squirt guns with Round Up so you can attack the turf from a distance. You’ve undoubtedly heard the infomercials for Round Up lawsuits, so please wear gloves. As an alternative, gasoline can also be used with the added benefit of being able to ignite the product thereby creating a visually stimulating effect at night.

However, if you’re positive you won’t be seen or are comfortable hiring a turf hit man, I’d argue that spraying the U logo or a simple “F U” with Round Up in the turf would have a more desired effect for those ***** than killing the entire lawn. Depending on the cultivars they using to fix it and the climate conditions, you’ll have at least 2-3 weeks until the new seed germinates and several weeks until the chlorophyll levels (color) of the new turf matches that of the existing turf. This method will maximize your opportunities to drive/walk by to point and laugh at them.

This will work. Thank you!

Promise not to mention your involvement unless the cops show up and stuff gets real hot

Why would you spray tenacity on paspalum in the full heat of the summer? If that turf came in like that I'd be finding someone else to get my sod from. If they had that much undesirable that's just bad management. There's no excuse for the turf to look like that. Miami should be ****ed, I bet it wont look like that in three weeks for the Dolphins home opener.

Did you see the cut lines between the panels? It was laid very poorly. Based on what was reported from others, I’m guessing they were in a bind putting it down. I’m hopeful they’ll be better going forward.

I did notice it, been very busy so it's taken me three days to watch the full game. That **** looked really bad for sure. There's just no excuse for highly managed turf to look that bad when you know the date it needs to be right. If you're spraying to get rid of something and you know the damage you're gonna cause, you time it so the turf can recover. I'm sure you know this, I'm just saying that was a very poor look. lol only acceptable excuse is vandalism. 'Oh we had to spray some **** out' isn't cutting it on national tv. Could you imagine Augusta National looking like that for the Masters?

No ... there were yellowish blotches all over the field. No idea if it has something to do with their drainage system? Rained pretty hard for one solid hour almost right before kick off and the players didn't seem to have any issues with the field condition. They probably have a really solid drainage system to syphon off that rain so it doesn't accumulate.
Did read that they installed a new drainage system in the Summer of 2020 with several miles of pipe running under the field and a capacity to remove 18,000 gallons per minute. Includes moisture sensors that are designed to ensure optimal moisture levels are maintained for healthy grass. Really was impressed that in spite of the heavy rains we witnessed in the stands for the 1 hour prior to kickoff there were no traction issues apparent all night.
