Okay, that's fine. What I meant was that Diaz was quoted saying that the competition will continue and also continue to see who is the backup QB as well. Also what I was implying is that we don't know if we have another pull Rosier for Perry type games coming soon or not.
Ok, fair enough. I just took issue with this idea that Jarren has only been tabbed as QB vs UF. That is absurd. But of course we never know how the season will play out. ****, let's pray not, but Jarren could get knocked out on the opening series and Tate could find himself playing the entire game in two weeks. You just never know. That's why I personally don't want him doing anything but honing his craft as a QB.

People are acting like Jarren is the returning starter after winning a title or a Heisman.

He’s got great potential and has worked hard to earn this role, but Tate needs to stay ready. A live game is a whole different animal than practice and scrimmages, and college football is crazy and unpredictable. You never know what can happen injury wise or with the level of play from the guy in front of you.

He needs to keep working because say Jarren struggles, he could get the nod week 3/4 and should be ready to not give that job back.

have him compete as qb this year, featuring him in packages and then have him switch to wr next year. BOOOOM. I WIN.

Imo, I don’t think a year under Enos and his O could hurt any of these guys. None of these QB’s are close to graduation. Playing, practicing and working to improve with Coach is Worth it’s weight in gold for these guys. A lot of things change and can happen in a year, for better or worse. My advice to them would be to work hard and let the chips fall and then reassess your options. Barring a message from the coaches that there is no longer room for them, Champions don’t run from competition, they compete. Just sayin ‘🙌🏿

Wildcat and keep competing.

This.

Tate changed his grip and is still working on his throwing motion with Enos. Let him continue doing that. Let him continue to compete and get better, while making JW better. Let him have some snaps here and there against lesser teams and in packages against better teams IF the offense is struggling and in need of a boost.

If the offense is humming though in big games, leave it alone.

Realistically, Perry should transfer to Marshall or somewhere where he can start. I’d do everything to keep Tate motivated. Wildcat packages, mop up duty, etc. I hope Jarren is the guy for the next two years but you never know.

You never know, JW could go down early against the Gaytors (I hope not). The other 2 have to be ready and they can then have their moment to shine. I hope the other 2 stay engaged and are ready at all times.

I would offer a switch to wide out and sell him on Edelman. I would honestly love him at receiver cause then we wouldn't have to change personel to go wildcat. Would make us very versatile. Especially on goal line.

We've seen on tape how dynamic Tate can be as a runner. He seems to be a good athlete, and has won numerous awards in the weight room since he's arrived on campus. Contrary to how he's viewed in the media, he seems to be a competitor and wants to play and win no matter what.

So...here's a poll. What do you want to see us do with Tate?

You can select up to two options.
If any of the QBs quit or give up is not smart. It may be better in favor of the guy second string to be in position to actually be the guy. If Williams have problems and the second guy comes in especially once they have the comfort of looking at the game from the sideline way after the starter butterflies are gone, they could very well get the nod in the second game which is a cupcake and have momentum behind them with other cupcake games if they fair better in the game vs Florida. So it's not over if Williams doesn't fair well against florida which is a tough feat.

I'm hoping that Williams take care of business but no one knows for sure how he will respond in this first game against a formidable opponent.

There's a lot of noise right now about having him work as a slot WR which he could do all this season while still being the backup QB. Next season he could switch full time to slot and make a run at some real playing time
