There’s too many rotten parts to this. There is no single fix. The problems are thus: Frenk and U vision re Football/Athletics, organization dynamics, BoT, Blake, Mandy.

Should that miracle start to happen, at what point does the momentum start to change? Hypothetically... we beat UNC 34-24, then NCST 38-27, Pitt, 33-20, GT 41-17, FSU 27-13, VT 34-31, Duke 45-10 and then we play Wake and win 27-20. Where is it in there again... hypothetically... that the momentum changes in the Miami world?
Interesting question. I mean how excited can you get about beating a bunch of mediocre teams? It wouldn't be unfathomable for Miami to win out against that schedule. Let's say it happens and Miami manages to win all those games by narrow margins. I'm sure the national narrative would shift. But for those paying close attention, it's only a matter of getting a lucky bounce here and there and the team isn't really getting better. I guess winning the conference would put Miami in a premier bowl game and you'd really have to weigh those results pretty heavily. A 10-3 regular season plus victory over Wake seems nice on paper but none of those 10 wins would have been against a top 25 opponent, so you're still where you were a year ago. Good enough to edge out mediocre ACC teams but uncompetitive against anyone who's good.

I mean, it's all hypothetical but at this point, that's all we have to talk about.

Have to win bowl game too.

But it is unfathomable. This team just sucks.

At this point, anything shy of winning the Coastal has to be seen as fireable. Personally, I think he'd have to win the Coastal as a minimum and really only lose the ACCCHGM and win his bowl. Either win out or only lose the ACCCHGM, but still win the bowl game. Outside of that, it's clear that there is not alternate universe where this turns out well for him.

If a miracle happens and they win every single remaining game, then win the ACC, only that would be sufficient to retain them.

Obviously that is a moot point, considering they are about to lose to North Carolina by at least 3 TDs. That and they have no control over the team or the toxic environment.
Exactly. If a miracle happens and they win out, then he should stay. That said, that isn't happening, and here we are...

After watching the 1st 5 games, I can't imagine them winning out. It would be great to see them play better, but I doubt it. Although you can't play much worse. Miami doesn't identify the other teams weaknesses like other coaches do ours. They pound away, sometimes with the same player and same play and Miami can't stop it. On offense, we hardly ever have a receiver open or any holes in the line to run through.
The recruiting and talent level have risen but the game planning, in game adjustments and player development is horrific.

In every relationship there's a point where things just become irreparable. You both know it deep down and for whatever reason, choose to ignore it. Then you're acutely aware of every little misstep as it might be the one that starts the beginning of the end.

This is where we're at. There is nothing that will repair this. The mistrust will always be there. We'll be criticizing every 1 point loss and every time the team plays a little flat. He needs to move on and Blake needs to be replaced before the next coach is hired. That's why I chose the Highsmith option. There's no chance he keeps Manny and we're in a better position all around.

I need to see them beat UNC. Beat UNC and they believe they can beat anybody left on the schedule. I'll believe it too....until they show otherwise.

at this point? winning out decisively in each game including an NY6 bowl game. that would mean progress was made overall despite the poor start (would be the biggest bowl win in over a decade and second big bowl since 04). other than that, nothing else
