Mine's is rooster turnovers. I hope you won't be put off by my frankness when I tell you that I absolutely love them. In fact, I enjoy no food item more than a freshly baked rooster turnover. There are two types of people in this world: those who eat rooster turnovers whenever it is possible to do so, and those who opt to do other things with their free time. Who do the latter think they are kidding? What pastime could be more rewarding than the consumption of rooster turnovers? I haven't yet found one, and I don't expect to in my lifetime. They are delicious.
And holy shizz have we been experiencing major rooster turnover since 2018 ended. The likes of which we haven't seen in quite some time. We could be replacing up to 30 scholarship players in 2019 (we're up to 26 as of now).
We were victimized by attrition pretty severely from 2016 - 2018. Here's to hoping Manny can put a stop to it.
After winning his first title, when asked what the secret to Clemson's success had been, Dabo Swinney's response was recruiting players who bought into their program and keeping them in school for 4 years. Miami can recruit on the same level as Clemson, if not better. They're not reeling off top 5 classes the way Bama's done it.
They're able to groom their players so that when a Mike Williams departs they have a Deon Cain waiting his turn, and a Justyn Ross behind him. Gallman handed off to Ettienne. Dorian O'Daniel gave way to Isaiah Simmons. Shaq Lawson to Clelin Ferrell and so on.
Theirs is the model that Manny must follow while continuing to pioneer an emphasis on the transfer market.
If he can combine recruitment, retention, and transfers we'll be near the top once again. The portal will giveth. Keeping it from taking away will be key.
I thank you for this time.
God bless you.
And Go Canes.
