What is your expectations for the Alabama Game?

Expectations?: Improvement from the OL and WR. Improvement in the Run D. Clean up the absolutely horrible and untimely BS penalties.

Hopes?: A couple breaks go our way, a couple of turnovers, Canes shock the world and pull out a signature win for Manny

I wonder what would happen if WE punched them in the mouth. One of the advantages to having a veteran team is that we've got a lot of guys with 4 - 6 years in the weight room. This isn't about stars but brute strength. We should be the stronger team at some positions. Match that with the right aggression and we could be more physical than Alabama at some positions.

This team is going to fight its *** off! I believe they know what's at stake and DK isn't going to lt them lose focus. I'm also sensing a quiet confidence coming from them. They aren't chirping really loud but they're saying small things to let you know that in that locker room they expect to shock the world.

If you're betting the rent Alabama 31-21. If you're wearing your orange and greens Miami 34 - 31.

Bama smoked #2 Clemson by 28 in the NC game last year so in reality a 24 point loss isn't the end of the world. Or even an indication that we aren't good enough to win the ACC crown. Just sayin...

In 2015, when Manny was at Miss St, the bulldogs were able to hold Alabama to a scoreless first quarter. Unfortunately, Bama took off in the 2nd quarter behind Derrick Henry.

Derrick Henry ran for 204 yards. To be fair to Manny, the week prior Henry for 210 against LSU and two weeks after Miss St game ran for 274 against Auburn. Only reason it wasn't 4 straight games over 200+ was because Henry was benched after the 1st quarter against Charleston Southern. Side note: Jesus christ...Henry was unstoppable in the 2nd half of the season that year.

Anyways, if we could find a way to go into the 2nd quarter in a scoreless draw or just a draw period...then ****. Weather the storm early on. Build confidence. Find a way to keep it close heading into the 4th. Make them earn it.

We lost by 2 scores with Rosier at QB with a team that went 15-0 the following year with the multiple top 5 picks.

Yeah besides quarterback play, I’d say we showed up…..
I was at that game the only part of our team that showed up was the defense.

My expectations:

-- Very minimal self-inflicted mistakes. Meaning no jumping offsides on crucial 3rd downs, no roughing their kicker giving them a free first down after they miss a FG, no muffed punts, no heinous dropped passes. I'm not going to EXPECT an A+ performance, but I do think it's fair to expect us to play close to our best. And that would include not doing much of anything to beat ourselves. Every team makes mistakes, but how bout we have one big game where we don't have an avalanche of them?

-- Our OL doesn't get completely mauled. We have literally the most returning starts of any program in the history of the sport. Yes, you read that correctly. The numbers are inflated across the country due to the Covid super seniors, but I will say it again. In the history of the sport, The 2021 Miami Hurricanes are returning more kids with more combined starts on the offensive line than any program has in the history of college football. Now, that doesn't mean that we're magically great. If a kid stinks (and I'm not saying anyone on the OL does, just making a point), just him having experience doesn't make him great. But if we're *that* experienced, you would think we shouldn't get absolutely crushed across the offensive front. Sure, I expect Alabama to control that aspect of the game, but we should be able to put up a fight. I expect us to hold our own across the full 60 minutes, although I'm sure Alabama will certainly have some stretches where they control our OL with their front 7. If it's just even close to a wash though, I think we can have success on offense.

-- We don't get flattened in the run game. Alabama loses 4 starting OL, including multiple NFL picks, the best Center in the country, a first-round tackle, etc. They lose Najee Harris. Yes, they have talented kids to fill those spots. But they HAVE to have a little bit of a drop-off. It's literally impossible the new kids in the first game are as good and efficient as the kids they're replacing. So, let's not get obliterated in the run game. We know we have question marks at edge and at backer. So, IMO, this is the most important aspect of the entire game. If Alabama just has their way running the football, and the game is easy and relaxed for Bryce Young, we're going to get killed. I expect Manny to make Young beat him. He's surely capable of doing it, IMO he is the best QB prospect they've ever had, but it's his first start. If I'm Manny, and I'm going to lose, it's going to be because a freshman QB making his first start beat me, not because I let them run the ball down my throat. So it's imperative that the front 7 at least hold their own. Again, I don't expect the Steel Curtain out there. But don't get embarrassed.

-- I expect us to make the game competitive in the 2nd half. I'm being realistic here, I don't expect a win. I sure as **** hope for one, I will be there in full throat in Section 107, and walking into that building I'm gonna be thinking we're gonna shock the world. But when the dust settles, if we lose, I'm not going to throw myself off the roof. The line is Alabama -18 or -19, and if we play them 10 times in a row they probably win 9. But I expect the kids to fight. The whole **** team is back. We have more experience than any P5 team in America. We have the entire offensive staff back. Go play like it. Get up for the moment, fight your *** off, execute you gameplan, and let's see what happens. I don't *EXPECT* to win, but I sure as **** expect to compete. I do not think that's too much to ask for. This is a huge game for Manny, obviously, but IMO a legit P5 staff puts a scare into Bama with this roster. At least for a half. If it's 31-10 at halftime, I'm obviously going to be incredibly disappointed. I expect this team to come out and fight a lot more than that. We have the talent to make them sweat. Let's execute at a level that makes that happen.

48-13 Alabama

C’mon, now. It’s manny vs Saban. Let’s be realistic. Butch beat Manny with FIU. What you think a fully stocked Saban will do with Bama? And don’t forget, Saban has had 7 months to prepare. I’m expecting nothing short of a blowout.

I think the hype and adrenaline will things interesting until midway through the 2nd quarter and then the **** kicking will begin.

I fully expect us to keep it close heading into the 4th quarter.

But I do think we need a big break (a turnover, they miss an easy field goal, King hits a wide open man in blown coverage, anything like that) late in the 4th to either put us up or keep us ahead.

UM - 31
Bama - 30

You have the same schtick in every post. How much will you be betting on Bama? Gotta be at least a grand the way you run your mouth in literally every thread. When will you be posting your Bama -19 ticket for us to see?

I don’t have a gambling habit, my man. Vices are harmful so I don’t do drugs nor do I gamble. I just watch the games for the purity of sport.

But willing to discuss the game with you, post and pregame. Is that cool?

Nah, I just hate when people talk in absolute facts like they know something without a shadow of a doubt, yet won't put their money where their mouth is. If you said stuff like "I think this might get ugly, we don't matchup well with X, and Y scares me, etc." I wouldn't have an issue with it. But you talk like Alabama winning by 40 is as certain as the sun rising, yet won't take what you would think would be literally free money since you're so certain.

But sure, spend your time on a Miami Hurricanes message board telling Miami Hurricanes fans "I told you so" when the team loses. Makes sense.

Idiot Joey Galloway said on college football live today in order for us to compete we would need to go back to the 90’s smh.

we got nothing to lose out there! Hope we shock the world so we can shut an idiot up like himself. The ******* 90’s... really
