Barrios was our work horse, Barrios. equivalent of Ederlman of the patriots. One player changes the whole outlook. Barrios aint here. Clutch players, that do the job. I dont think he was a 4 star recruit. Just simple players that have a will to win and give it their all. Lets remember, Butch had the natural talent to find players that gave their all. Im not saying that the U dont have that but probably the coaching staff dont have that talent in recruiting all around players that bust their ***. Miami always had a problem of staying motivated for the entire game. History shows that when Miami win a close game or lose a close game, we lose several games after that. Rosier Jr had his savior.

"Butch had the natural talent to find players that gave their all."

In an era where the internet hardly existed and scouting services certainly didn't.

Berrios was every bit a 4* player he was utilized incorrectly at Miami.

I think the biggest thing missing from our offense this year is competent QB play. Elite QB play can cover up a lot of issues see Sam Darnold at USC.
Flowing from that elite QB play is leadership. Malik has leadership traits but does not have the talent, and thus is not credible; N'Kosi has the talent but has not shown he has the leadership traits or intangibles. Hopefully our next QB is not only physically talented but also have the intangibles.

Our offense is missing on offense!

This!

Our offense is missing a competent play caller that can provide us with a schematic advantage not just run the 30 plays "we know how to run" regardless of what the other team is doing (schematically) defensively.

Besides the obvious below average QB and OL play , we are missing YAC from our WRs. Big plays win games and they are few and far between for this team.

Well since you ask
1. OL line play
2. Talented QB
3. Explosive RB
4. Possession receivers
5. TE
6. Ability to sustain long 75+ drives
7. Tough inside running game
8. Innovative play calling

Did I miss anything ?

Lol We were only slightly better with Berrios. Issue is teams have seen everything Richt has in his playbook and they know our tendencies.

We caught a lot of breaks last year in close games.

I think we miss guys like Darling and McDermott. Yeah they probably under-performed here but there is a huge drop off after they left. If not for Boulware being a huge surprise we would have zip on the line.
