I deleted it to look professional. Not to hide what i did, yes what i did ain’t good and i understand that to the full extent but i’m cool with that guy and people on here saying i don’t have sources which everyone can have there opinions but i do and i’m here to get y’all the news on Miami basketball that is literally free and it’s not behind a paid wall like other sites. But i’ll learn from my actions and i hope y’all forgive me for what i did.

Sir, they are not appreciated by the masses. I stopped checking this forum altogether for reasons already mentioned. I'm not going to drag this kid, because I respect the **** out of what he's doing. High schooler, grinding, cutting his teeth. I think it is cool he has this opportunity. Really hope it works out.
 
You know what they say, there's no such thing as bad publicity.

Even in the apex L years, the hoops board was hardly alpha. Let alone the lulz seasons when there were about 4 of us regularly posting.

I think things will improve around here after the teeth grinding settles
 
If I have news to share about a particular player's recruitment, and I only want to post it once, I really don't know where it should go. Right now we have the same news posted in multiple threads, either by one person or by multiple people. That gets very repetitive.

The problem isn't really the articles -- I'm guessing @Trinton Breeze is a freelancer getting paid by the article, so more power to him -- but that comments are open to those articles. The solution is to close the articles so that no comments are allowed, and include a link at the end of those articles to a main thread about that recruitment.

There should be one thread per prospect's recruitment that is open to comments. To be clear, recruiting high schooler Acaden Lewis in 2025 should be a different thread than recruiting transfer portal Acaden Lewis in 2026. And once Acaden Lewis commits to Miami, the moderators should open a thread welcoming him to Miami and close his recruitment thread.

This is going to require the moderators to stay on top of things, but that seems preferable to having to evaluate all of the incoming comments.

Not going to get an argument from me. I agree with your earlier post as well.

I don’t think the duplicative articles will create new basketball fans. I could be wrong. As an alumni, I’m a fan of all the Miami sports, others, which we know, are Miami Football Fans and root for other schools in basketball.

Winning and exciting games, recruits or seasons draw in the football fans and maybe they’ll stay here for the conversation and antics.

I’m fine with the limited audience here and the baseball board. The content of the articles can be dealt with in ways that don’t clog up the board or break up the conversation across threads.

There are ways for the 2 utes to develop their skills without clickbait.

Based on my experience here as a Maude for many years, I’m certain that you and Baby Bot aka @Trinton Breeze) aren’t getting a whole lot of direction, more like d$ drawing up plays in the sand and saying go long. 🤣

We (CIS) need to figure out a way to have articles which @DMoney says get the most views, while consolidating all threads on a player into one, linked to or under that article. I suspect that the article views aren’t as quality as the message board aspect as far as view time. I don’t think a new thread should be started on an individual player for every twist and turn. If it’s possible to sticky post articles at the top of an individual player threads, kind of like we can for each sub board, that would be a possibility I’d think but @Andrew would need to create that framework.

Regardless, thank you for your efforts and those of your cohort Baby Bot who seems to embrace the hate.

You guys know that “news” articles get posted when new news drops, right?
Thats what the articles section is.

The problem is
1) it posts into the regular forums.
2) it allows comments with makes it so maybe like 5-10 comments and discussion take place in each individual article.

The solution is
1) the ability when writing the article to CHOOSE whether the post only posts to the Articles sections, or BOTH the Articles And Basketball discussion forum
2) the ability when writing the article to CHOOSE a specific centralized post in the forums where all the discussion should be taking place

Im talking about streamlining everything into one thread. I don’t get the purpose of reprinting other people’s articles as a thread by a CIS writer. They can post a link or report it in an existing thread, if something new is breaking. But they are high school kids doing whatever, if anything, they were told. Don’t attack them please. It’s in @DMoney ‘s hands. Take it up with him in here as you have or by dm.

I know we’re trying to find a solution. This is untenable. I’ve fielded a number of DMs on it.

We constantly update old threads and use them on the poster side as opposed to making new threads simply because there’s a new nuance. We need to do this on this end as well and find away to put articles together - as I suggested as sticky posts on a player thread - or something like no_fly or Cali said.

Dmoney is the head man here. If he told them, hey guys just post as many AI generated articles as possible for clicks, then that is what they are going to do.

Its on him to find the right balance between clicks and board happiness.
