What I'm seeing and hearing...

This year he's playing worse than last year, and last year was worse than the previous year.... Theres a word for that...

I don’t think he’s playing worse this year than last year. But it’s probably splitting hairs. He did have a ton of drops last year, not as many as this year. But the ones like Jojo last week are even worse killers than just dropping the ball.

But most metrics you’re going to find will show he’s actually a little better this year than last. Obviously neither close to the 2023 season.

The way our coaches are running this offense though is literally criminal.

The first 4 drives last week were actually encouraging. Throw it 5 times on the first drive but of course we throw a backwards pass to Toney that gets killed, drive over.

2nd drive nice vertical shot to Trader on 2nd and 6, a down we usually run on, TD.

3rd drive, he’s 3 for 3 including a great ball for 25 to Trader, makes another excellent play to find Bowman, of course we get an OPI, drive over.

4th drive perfect ball to Jojo down the field, pick. And then I don’t think we threw a pass 20+ yard downfield until the final drive. Maybe one.

Pure turtle mode, run the ball on literally every single short yardage play, literally literally. All of them. Virtually no play action.

Repulsive coaching.

Think the comment you responded to was about Anez

I mean not that I disagree, but my post was about Anez Cooper lol

WTF is a “his’n”?

I do not think Mario could take Manny’s roster and beat Mario’s roster this year, if that’s what you’re asking. Nor do I think Duke would beat us this year.

Yeah, like it could be he's just mentally cooked and DCs have figured out how to attack him and he can't adjust, ala TVD. Tl:dr he's a limited QB.

But, just watching on TV the ball isn't zipping out of his hand and I think he's avoiding making throws that are there that he would make if he had confidence in his arm. It wouldn't surprise me if it came out he had "dead arm" or something else after the surgery.

Either way it's unfortunate. I think we'd all be arguing a lot less about the rest of our offense if our QB was performing like we expected him to, but that's just me.
I know this is an unpopular opinion but I think he’s been fine with the exception of the Louisville game. Yeah that INT in OT last week was **** but he played good up until that point. It should have never come to that but unfortunately it did. Like others have said he’s a step or two above “game manager” and certainly isn’t Cam but we all knew he wasn’t Cam. I think going from Cam to Beck has us believing he’s worse than he actually is. I don’t think he’s the reason why we’re struggling offensively. It’s really the penalties and play calling above all else. Beck is just getting extra **** because he’s:

1) Not as good as Cam. As a player and leader
2) Getting grossly overpaid
3) Seems to be a bit of an *** throwing shade at his teammates. Whether or not they’re deserving of it is beside the point. Good leaders don’t do that. Period.

My biggest concern with Beck is his play in clutch time when we’re down. I did have an eery feeling getting the ball first in OT mainly because of the Louisville blunder. I think the coaches might know this and that’s why they don’t seem to have confidence in him which is weird considering how much we spent on him. I’m not criticizing the decision to take him despite Mendoza playing well at Indiana. Completely different offense and system they’re running there. Mendoza would have similar stats as Beck if he was playing for us right now.

***** *** ***** is the word youre looking for. id say this to the clown from Columbus face

once we threw the pick in ot they could of just lined up and kicked the fg in ot. it was over. they werent going to throw it or risk it.

If SMU lined up to kick it - Fine. Would've been a 42 yd FG attempt. They JUST missed a 42 yd FG in the 4th

SMU was only going to run it - Good. Because SMU had -2 yds rushing in regulation.

Man up....at least try. Stuff the run & make SMU earn it with a high-pressure 40+ yd FG.

Or just quit.

It's one thing for fans to think it was over. It's another thing for the Defense to actually play like it.

The whole last 20-30 minutes in real time of that game was so ******* depressing and infuriating.

The 4th and 9 disaster. The unspeakably pussified kneel to end the game. The inability to score in OT. Then just quitting and letting them push your **** in to score a TD and tear the goalposts down. Truly maddening ****. I really wish I could quit this program sometimes. For 20 years they’ve done virtually nothing but find new, innovative ways to **** me off. Inventing ways to embarrass yourselves. This year, it’s just nauseating penalty after penalty, among many other things.

But no, my kid’s name is Braxton Cane and I’ll be here every ******* week till I die, putting the clown makeup on while I sob.

It’ll only make me feel maybe 1% better but for Christs sake have we not suffered enough? Can we not just win and look somewhat competent for the next 4 weeks?

I would hope so but wouldn't put anything passed Mario. He lost 3 games with Cam just last year lol

2, but yeah.

And we’re gonna lose at least 2 with Rueben Bain because it’s the exact same season, except flip the offense and defense.

Next year, we’ll have top 10 offenses and defenses and lose 2 games because we’ll have 4 kicks blocked and give up 3 return touchdowns.

Top 10 O and D without:
Fletcher, Mauigoa, Daniels, Bain, Mesidor, Blay, Bissainthe, Bell, and Scott?

I'm not even sure if they land a big name QB after this Beck mess. But CREAM should win out.

They need 4 transfer portal OL, 4 DL, 2 ILB, 2-3 DBs, 2-3 WR's, TE, RB, PK and QB. That's ~20 more transfers in January and I'd assume a new OC

i get that but with this exact roster we’re #1 or 2 against this schedule at this point if we still had Cam im 99% sure of that..I feel like yall are underestimating the importance of having an elite QB it literally raises your floor by 2-3 games,,.without cam last year we were a 8-4 7-5 team at BEST.

We are the #1 team in America in pressure rate allowed. The absolute best. Beck is pressured on a smaller % of his drop backs than any QB in America.

If you gave me a QB as accurate as him and told me, never mind sacked, he's only going to be PRESSURED on 15% of his drop-backs, I would carve your *** up for 40 a game. It's a legit cheat code.

But what do we do? When we have the singular most advantageous passing situation in football, which is 2nd and short, we run the ball. Not a lot. Literally every single time.

Give the **** kid a chance. Run some vertical routes. Run a stop and go. Run some sluggos. Run a wheel route. Run a circus route. RUN PLAY-ACTION! The whole world knows you're going to try to lean on your run game, let your QB pull it and look down the field.

Much like Guidry last year, Dawson's approach to how we're playing these games on offense this year is going to haunt me to my grave.
I had said we needed to run play action before the game and I believe you were the one who replied and said we run it plenty.

I disagree. Maybe statistically we run it as much as other teams? But we don’t use it enough for our style of play. We also do not use it effectively or when needed.
