Several did not trust the Mendoza or Emory will be our 2025 QB rumor in September/October before the season played out and/or we knew who would be available. Then, at the end of the recruiting cycle, we got Beck -- after Mendoza went to IU, Mateer went to OU, several other QBs were off the market.

Then once we ended up with Beck -- the board went voice of the Hecht -- efficient, better team, more balanced -- while pesky mopes indicated that we lost a generational QB1, RB1, TEs 1,2 and maybe 3, OL and 4 WRs, etc. Slurpers also went full blame on Bobo, we are getting 2023 Beck, Beck is no longer cheeks... the Cavinders aren't true Canes, Beck da God...

And -- we are now hearing we are not playing to the strength of our QB --- where have we heard that before....

Fletcher has always been a perfectly capable short yardage and goalline Rb. RB isn't the issue in short yardage. At all imo.

Brown is the one that got stuffed on a critical short yardage play against SMU. First he went the wrong way, second the LG got blown up. But he could not make it through. There were several times last year when Martinez was hit before the LOS and somehow bulldozed his way to a first down. Do you not remember those situations? He was downright impressive at running over the first guy.

Exact same roster as is, just replace Beck with Cam, we still getting the same results?

If Bauman and Lofton can’t block or catch or run routes why aren’t we playing Gilbert and Schott more? The TE position is such trash at the experienced player level the freshmen deserve PT by default. They can’t be any worse.
