What I'm seeing and hearing...

  • Most of the season we have had no variety in the run game.
  • Recently we added a little variety. We spread it out a bit in the SMU game.
  • However, when the game was tight in the 4th quarter, we reverted right back to heavy sets and runs up the middle.
  • Why is our offense focused so much on inside runs when our center gets blown up every play? Know your players and game plan accordingly.
  • Ok, our TEs are bad blockers. Why do we run so many jumbo sets with 85 OL and TEs then? If the TEs can't block don't utilize a running game that relys so heavily on them. Know your players and game plan accordingly.
There was a thread the other day that said...serious question, is Mario stupid? Isn't it common sense that if you don't have blocking TEs to not rely on them heavily in the run game? Mario seems intent to play a certain way no matter what. That's stupid.
I don’t call him Meathead for nothing
He’s a dope that has no ability to THINK strategically

The only reason our OL is struggling in the run game isn’t because of talent, it’s because of what the coaches are asking them to do. They’re making it harder than it needs to be. Our philosophy is all about moving defenders straight ahead 85% of the time instead of mixing it up with pulls, angles or east and west motion. Teams like Michigan, GT, and OSU all add variety to their run schemes, which keeps defenses honest.

And then you have our OC talking to the media in that patronizing tone, basically asking how to run plays outside the box in shotgun. That says it all. Last year, even though we ran up the middle a lot (smfh), we at least had more creativity and mixed in different looks in both the run and pass game.

I’m done with Dawson. He hand picked this awful QB room and is running an elementary offense in 2025. He literally got furious with Brown on camera because he didn’t go inside. ******* ridiculous. Season is over.
That was on Brown
He needed to get that g dam yard and decided to bounce! That was a huge play
He’s done that twice now

Dude needs to know situation
Get the f ing YARD

The next four games will tell me everything I need to know about Mario…
Everything you needed to know about Mario was known before he signed here. This is not some 30 year old coach who's evolving for the better. This a man in his 50s who is hardwired to coach in a singular unyielding manner and appears to be completely oblivious of his own limitations. Does he actually have full immunity at UM or will our AD hold his feet to the fire?

Mario, is that you? The amount of excuses in this post are nauseating. Jeezus what utter nonsense. I mean, literally pointing to losing to a team by X points as some achievement, just might get you the ultimate Mario guzzler award.

The PAC 12 was straight trash when he happened to be at Oregon. Both Washington and USC were down during that time.

That Washington team he was 3-1 against, was 25-18 during his 4 years at Oregon.

USC was 21-21 during his 4 years at Oregon.

The best team in the conference over the 4 year span he was the HC at Oregon was Utah (33-14), and guess what, he was 1-3 against them.

As a 7 point favorite against Arizona in 2018, he lost by 29.

As a 13 point favorite against Arizon State in 2019, he lost.

As a 13 point favorite against Oregon State in 2020, he lost.

As a 9 point favorite against Cal in 2020, he lost.

As a 8.5 point favorite against Stanford in 2021, he lost.

At Oregon, he was 7-6 against ranked opponents.

Thus far during his tenure at Miami, where he has had the highest paid staff and roster of any team in the conference, he has delivered a conference record of 14-14 (50%) with no conference championships or even an appearance.

In comparison, Manny Diaz was 16-9 (64%) in ACC play during his 3 years at Miami. Mark Richt was 16-8 (67%) during his 3 years at Miami. Both with substantially better results in coference, with no financial support to speak of. Unlike Mario, who has had one of the best budgets to work with in the country.

Furthermore, Mario is 4-6 against ranked opponents (at the time they played) while at Miami.

But the best is always saved for last, as we all know, he has lost 6 games as a double digit favorite in 3.5 years at Miami. The most by any HC in FBS during that time span.

So stop with the bull**** excuses. The guy is a flat out bum as a HC.
Preach!!!

You think Sam Darnold as a style of QB is significantly different than Beck? Lol. They have the same main criticism over and over. Which is play under pressure. Let's not act like Darnold also wasn't out there always seeing Ghosts. I swear some of y'all can't have any honest discussion when it comes to QBs and Beck specifically.

D money said it perfectly - every problem we see now he had at Oregon. this isnt a coach that has grown. this is who he is. Oregon had the same issues we have now. it follows him everywhere.

The thing with Lane is he took Ole miss and the fact they have that roster and expectations AT FREAKING OLE MISS?! They had NO TALENT or standards at ole miss prior.. Ole mis was a dump and when they were in SEC west it was auto win compared to when he got there. The fact people have playoff exectation for Ole freaking Miss lets you know how successful he has been there. They never even won 10 regular season games before he got there, lol..

Exactly, he took a program that was nothing, and made them relevant. Miami has way more built in advantages than Ole Miss

It won't be Kiffin.

That boat has sailed.

Has anyone else noted that Arkansas and Oklahoma seems to draw some really good, innovative coaches pass through somewhere? Even Arkansas State has had some younger, innovative coaches. I think Jimmy Johnson played for Arkansas and was at Oklahoma State.

Just saying . . . instead of running older names through the tick trough, and a recycle - there's some really good younger coaches who'd give their left nut to coach at UM.

It's not like they'd ***** up here and there - something we've never seen - but they might be hungry to put in the work and not put their entire career in running into super stacked boxes at the A Gap.

And for Heaven's sake - no more former players.
Said that years ago on here about Arkansas. JJ played and coached at Arkansas. Butch played at Arkansas and started coaching high school in Arkansas. Bear Bryant and Tubbs are from Arkansas. Lashlee's from Arkansas. Missouri's coach graduated from Arkansas Tech, coached high school in Arkansas and coached at Arkansas State.

We hired a recruiter during the wrong era, 10 years too late. Recruiting is still important, but with the portal and NIL, parody is at an all time high. The days of just bulldozing everyone due to significant talent advantages are over. Even the bama's and Georgia's of the world have taken a modest step down. You need more than just talent, the playing field is more even than it ever has been
There were many people and I was one of them that said we didn't need a recruiter because those days are over. One of the knocks against Lane was he couldn't recruit which really doesn't matter in the NIL era
