What I See: Ole Miss Edition

Why is there confidence we can do what UGA couldn't? I mean maybe Ole Miss just had UGA's number schematically since they moved the ball well in both games, but any offense that can put up points on UGA is ELITE. Our defense is roughly equivalent to UGA.

Horrible take. We are much much better on defense the UGA.

We are 14 ypg better which is statistically insignificant, especially considering they played a harder schedule. Don't get be wrong we are very good defensively but we struggled against SMU which is like Ole MIss-lite.
I don’t need stats I know what I saw in that last game and what we currently are doing. We are much. Better than UGA. It’s not even close. We didn’t struggle on SMU we gave up 24 points and 7 was on Jo Jo in short field. That was also because our offense sucked which it seems to have figured it out. The only reason we were in that game is because of the defense. And they are at a different level form that game. We’re about to body Ole miss.

No not really. Georgia has almost no pass rush this year and it’s reflected in their sack numbers. Aside from the 2 games against Ole Miss, They’ve shown vulnerability in other games like Tennessee and the first matchup with Alabama.

They’re a good defense, but not a great one.

Georgia doesn’t have as good of a DL as we do and frankly our secondary is better as well. They absolutely do not have a player like #0 out there.

I think Miami can/will hold Ole Miss to the low-20s in points.

Post less. UGA has not one soul in their DL in the same stratosphere as Bain or Mesidor

Obviously everyone watched the Sugar Bowl rematch with Georgia, but how’d you feel like Tulane first game compared to Tulane 2nd game?

Also curious as both of their CFP games have been rematches, they haven’t really had to do much game planning from scratch, how well they can gameplan with all the drama with their coaches.
I think that is a key issue no one is talking about. Sure they were dealing with the coaching change for Tulane and Georgia but they had their old scouting reports to rely on.

Here the offensive staff will have a brand new opponent with less than a week to prepare knowing that you are out the door and having to work on recruiting with your actual boss.

It’s unheard of. Imagine working for Verizon and then getting hired at AT&T but still finishing off projects at Verizon the last three weeks AND working on new projects at AT&T.

I didn't watch the first Tulane game. I watched their CFP matchup but since you asked I decided to watch their first game against Tulane

Three main takeaways after watching this.
1. Chambliss can move. Ole Miss has definitely tempered down the designed runs later in the year.

2. I'm more convicted in my belief that Duece Alexander is their best WR.

3. Ole Miss's TE Dequan Wright is a good player. Can't sleep on him. He'll hurt your defense.

As far as comparing their CFP game and regular season games. Tulane had more offensive success in the CFP game. They were able to pass the ball more efficiently. Costly turnovers doomed them from actually putting points on the board.

Defensively, in both game Tulane was overwhelmed by Ole Miss's weapons.
