On Tuesday afternoon, Michigan transfer point guard L.J. Cason committed to play for Jai Lucas and the University of Miami Hurricanes. The Florida native decided to return back home and follow in the foot steps of ex-Michigan guard Tre Donaldson, who played a big part in his recruitment. Sources have confirmed that he will sit out this upcoming season, after undergoing an ACL season ending injury in February.

He originally committed to play for the FAU Owls. However, Dusty May took over the head coaching job at the Michigan Wolverines, which made L.J. Cason decommit from FAU and follow his coach to Ann Arbor. During his two seasons at Michigan, he appeared in 58 career games.
Was the 6th man on the team national title team
Before his injury, Cason was the first guy off the bench during the regular season. He played in a backup role behind Michigan starting point guard Elliott Cadeau, where Cason was a game changer when Cadeau needed a rest.

When L.J. Cason gets into games off the bench, he makes sure he leaves it all out there on the court. This past season, he recorded eleven total games where he reached double figures. His career-highest scoring game came against Northwestern, posting 18 points, four steals, three assists, and one rebound.
