What do you think of Diaz's coaching staff?

I'm pretty satisfied overall and really only question one hire. Dan Enos is among the best QB coaches in the country and is well respected in college football for his play calling and innovative Offensive mind. Stephen Fields is a home run hire with his contacts and ability to recruit. Hickson is respected in South Florida and has plenty of contacts around the country to help him succeed in Recruiting and he's coached some solid RBs to big seasons as a coach. I do question the Stubblefield hire more than anything. I just don't understand how it's a good hire? Not one of his WRs in d1 ever had more then 810 yards and I heard he was fired for struggling with recruiting in Utah. Overall I think it's a pretty solid staff and significant improvements on offense and the defense should be the same. What do you guys think ?

HC - Manny Diaz

OC/QB - Dan Enos
RB - Eric Hickson
OL - Butch Barry
WR - Taylor Stubblefield
TE - Stephen Field

DC/ILB - Blake Baker
Co-DC/S - Ephraim Banda
ST/OLB - Jonathan Patke
AHC/DL - Jess Simpson
CB - Mike Rumph

Recruiting- Doherty, Cooney & DVD

Honestly, offense is a little weak. A WR coach from AIR FORCE of all places? Not it. Lamar Thomas was begging for that job.. I'm a little worried but I guess we'll see what happens next year.

Think he did extremely well at the coordinator positions and Field is a home run hire.

Don't think anyone can speak with any authority on the rest. Only time will tell.

I don't know much about these guys but I feel like defense should have more or less the same feel and offense had nowhere but up to go. My biggest concern is OL at the moment, but the fact that we got Tate and might get Beck are absolutely massive.

Compared to the programs we’re supposedly trying to compete with the offensive staff overall looks pretty weak.

OMG, they have not coached anything yet and folks here are unimpressed....It has been a long time since I've been this encouraged as a fan and can't wait for spring practices

Overall, I am intrigued at least. Not sure about Stubb's tbh, but that may be my own ignorance. I follow Air Force Academy football very closely, but due to their scheme and recruting limitations, it's hard to get a read on him from there. He has coached in some more pass oriented offenses however. Will be interesting to see if Enos has 100% green light with play calling and how that goes for us. Patke is a better coach than some give him credit for. His ability to coach ST however is a bit of an unknown. Field is a good on field hire and hot on the crootin trail. A bit of NFL experience on the staff is also good. My totally irrelevant grade is a solid B for the staff. That being said, I can see them growing together with chemistry and experience at their new positions becoming an A staff by Fall 2020. Again, my irrelevant answer to the OP thread.

Oh yeah!

If Stubb can't coach and develop scores of receivers - he can't be any good.

Especially in the ultimate hotbed of receivers in the entire nation - Utah.

Im a fan of what he brought together....Enos needed people who understand his philosophy, terminology so while not as flashy as possible, think he filled those. He landed guys with NFL, CFL and P5 experience.

Field is a recruiting machine and TE is a great spot for a good recruiter. Usually 1 a cycle and go help other areas.

On defense, status quo. Baker is young, hungry and led a very good D in La Tech. They all practice and preach Manny's style of defense.

Lastly the SC guy is experienced and holds guys accountable. What is not to love.

So on one hand you're saying it's too early for people to be unimpressed, but in the next breath you're saying how encouraged you are...because, why?

as other have said....a little underwhelmed on the offensive side. However I believe MD will make changes swiftly if someone is not performing, so I am not too worried.
