What can Miami afford?

4.5 mil (ish) for Rick. School said 1 mil for OC. So 5.5-6 mil seems in the ballpark. Heupel makes 1.7 million. If Miami threw 3.7 mil at him, he'd have a ton of money left to hire a championship-level staff.

Miami has the money, but will they actually spend it is the issue. The greatest trick UM ever pulled off was convincing everyone they were giving out handjobs to make rent.

Doesn’t matter. The following can be had at a Richt’s salary or less.

Leipold
Brown
Campbell
Clark
Littrell
Rhule

That in itself is a great candidate pool.

The didn't accept Richt either leaving or being forced out without knowing the importance of making a big hire. They're going to throw the kitchen sink at whoever they want.

Ugh. Butch Davis solves so much problems. It just makes sense based on the state of our program.

- He is cheap. Check.
- The fan base will be happy with the hire and willing to wait. Check
- He has an eye for talent in an era where we are struggling to get elite prospects on a consistent basis. Check.
- He has been coaching up FIU to new heights. This isn't the same as 2015 where he was at ESPN. Check.
- He would get to coach Miami without the NCAA baring on his neck and better facilities. Check
- He understands Miami football. Check
- He understands Miami Recruiting. Check
- Recruits in SFL knowing his track record of turning players into 1st round draftee. Check.
- Can Sell the program.

Everything makes sense as to why bringing. Even if it fails it would not be expensive to get rid of him if he doesn't retire.

Don't give me crap about age. Saban is like 67 and he still has that fire in his belly. Why would Butch be any different? Oddly enough people are clamoring for the last guy we passed on who coached at FIU. Let's not make that mistake again?

If Richt QUIT as reported then we shouldn’t be obligated to pay any or all of his buyout so that would leave a little more change in the coffers.

Whoever gets hired it’s just as important to have money for the OC and DC along with the other assts as it is the HC.

We have a chance to once and for all return to our better days.

I hope they don’t FCk this up.

I wouldn’t be happy with him, thank you for all you did but I’m over the retreads.

How much to Richt? Do his assistants get paid? What is left in the coffers for new HC and staff ?
So no one knows the answers? I am convinced these questions will be asked and answered by the local media soon and will be relevant for the process.

No more let the HC be the OC/DC no family members with little to no experience on the staff, no more best friends as DC/OC
No more stubborn old stuck in your ways coach
Did I forget anything?
