The reason James Coley continues to improve is because he has Ice Harris tied to his hip. Remember Ice Coached Coley. You can see each week our offense improves. But as our offense improves we get worse on defense.
I am not trying to be rude or come off as knowing more than you but this is football and not John Madden.
UM having the same number of offensive possessions means nothing when Georgia Tech held the ball for over 40 mins. If you are going to keep the ball for over half the quarter, the number of possessions means very little.
You can’t ignore the reason why Duke and Yearby averaged over 7 yards per carry. James Coley did a good job of keeping G Tech off balanced which opened up the field to allow Duke and Yearby to run. Lining up and just trying to run will give you the exact same results we had in the Louisville game. Why would you want to become one dimensional? Do you want a repeat performance of the Louisville game?
Let me break it down further for you. FSU, who won the title, did not score on every drive. There were many drives that stalled. It was not a big deal because their defense played lights out.
UM was up 14-7. If the defense got a few stops, UM could have driven down the field and scored. For argument sakes, let’s say they scored 3 points. The Score is now 17-7. Defense gets a few more stops and the offense scores again we would now be up 24-7
