I truly thought that Brevin Jordan and Will Mallory would be first two TE from the same school to go in the first round... then IOWA came with their two-headed TE monster. However, Jordan and Mallory can do the same. Maybe?

Hockensen for Jordan and Fant for Mallory are actually pretty good player comparsion.

If our QBs get Brevin and Mallory the ball, they'll almost certainly be 1st/2nd round picks in a couple years

The point he's trying to make is that of all the schools that produce high-end talent, Iowa being the first one to have two TE's drafted in the 1st round is surprising.
Thank you. You get it. I wasn’t going to address, but whatever. To add to your point, Not only that, but it’s also rare to see 2 TEs go in the first round. Let alone from the same team. When we signed the Jordan and Mallory I thought they could be good enough to do it.

Very rare indeed. Was hoping my Jags would select Hockenson but Josh Allen fell into our laps lulz. So I’m stoked with that pickup. As to Iowa’s TE duo, good for them getting both selected in the 1st round. If Brevin and Will do what we believe they can do these next few year? No reason not to think they’ll be the 2nd group of 1st round duos.

Oh, I understood. I just wondered if he had been paying attention. Iowa churns out NFL TEs regularly and their pass offense is, by necessity, based on the position.

Anyone "surprised" by Iowa turning out two first round TEs this year hasn't been paying much attention to the program, the past season, or the position. Fant was projected to be first round before the season began and Hockenson was the best TE in the country last year, really by far.

Hate to say it, but I think they will both go in the second round.

playing devils advocate, Mallory & Brevin, albeit completely different in their skill sets, they're not known for their blocking. In a GM's eyes, I feel Mallory has the 1st round edge based on his 100 meter dash from high school. Bih fast.

Tight Ends aren't taken in the 1st round that often, so two from the same program is crazy.

I haven't been watching the NFL lately, but while watching the draft last night I was absoultely shocked that Iowa has had so many TE's drafted over the years.

If you talking about pure speed, this would be accurate, but Brevin and Will are totally different. Neither possess Fant's route-running ability or Hockenson's physicality as a blocker and TE yet. They're also 6'4 and 6'5 while Brevin is maybe 6'3 on a good day.

Bro... can they play their 2nd season?!? ! Jordan was a good blocker as a freshmen. By their junior I suspect they’ll be overall better blockers and route runners. Y’all comparing Jordan and Mallory as a freshmen to Hockenson and Fant as Juniors.

Knocking a TE’s blocking ability is a cop out. If you’re big enough to be an inline TE you can be taught to block. And I really don’t think that’ll hurt Jordan or Mallory, considering guys like Engram and Ebron are lighting it up. The Olsen’s and Kettle’s are rare and it doesn’t take that kinda ability to do it all right now to be a 1st round TE

I want them to get drafted 1st round, but ya gotta be real. And know it when you see it. They're going to be good tight ends, and probably in the NFL as well. Point being, there a lot of great tight ends in the NFL right now that weren't drafted in the first round. Outside the year 2017, they all sucked as 1st rounders!

Please look at this link to understand what I'm saying: http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/fulldraft?position=TE&type=position

Mark Andrews(3rd round rookie) started over Hayden Hurst(1st round rookie) last year for the ravens. Just to nail it on the head.
