What a great game yesterday

The deep ball to JT on the PI was on the money too.
JT on ST's just said F' it.
Cam doing some real good things.
The defense was lighting up people all game.

We owe Pitt one here.

One can only theorize how good he may have been if he had started from day one of the season. Thanks to a stubborn coach with an ancient agenda this did not happen.

How could N'Kosi start if he was suspended "day one of the season", friend. One could only think the discipline he received from Richt and subsequent benching caused this redshirt-freshman and air-apparent to take this opportunity more seriously. Kudos to the Richt's for supporting him, never throwing him under the bus, and getting him prepared to play the way he did yesterday. Our team weathered a difficult storm and is in great hands with coach Richt. I only hope they bring in a transfer and 2019 recruit for additional competition.

Too immature for season opener,, has progressed nicely.
With a Spring & Fall, could be what we have been waiting for..

I'll keep these pros and cons very simple because I have an IQ of 72.

Cons: those dropped passes and the way my ********s shrink every time we have to kick the ball in any capacity

Pros:
NP looks like a no-nonsense leader on the field. I wish I'd never seen any of his social media as it biased me. Nobody throws a better screen and he's got a lovely deep ball. And what about those open field moves? Did you know his name is Swahili for WARRIOR

The running game is fuggin stout.

The defense is very very good.

Yesterday we lined up better athletes and they actually responded like better athletes.

JT's electric punt return. I saw early in the game one of the turkeys got into it with JT and JT pointed at him and seemed to say "just wait mudder flucker, just wait". Jeff Thomas is American for PROPHET

Hey, shout out to his QB coach :moon3: (to us) for coachin’ him up. Fair is fair, right boys...... Kosi’s getting better.

Some kids have to go through adversity before they respond. Richt said he turned and corner over the last week and it's great to know that wasn't just coach-speak. He genuinely looked like a different player yesterday.

This kind of euphoria is exactly what I feared after a win like yesterday. Kudos to the players for giving it their all. They deserved the win. I hope they continue to win. I like getting drunk after a win, like I did last night (I have a terrible hangover!). But this win came at a cost of two promising young TEs. The 30 year-old play calling exposed them to being injured. Proof? The rest of the game and the W at the end without them. The constant short yardage dinking and dunking to the TEs on the sides and the dives by the RBs all disappeared after the TEs were out of the game. Hopefully they are not career ending injuries, I have not followed up on their status. But remember the throws up the middle to our TEs in the past? Ain’t seen one with this play caller. So unless we see more games like last night and better, this win really masks the deep problems we have in some of the coaching. By all means, a win felt like a long-anticipated ******, teased and denied for so long, finally erupting no matter how ugly the date was. Amen to that. I hope all of Cane Nation experienced the joy. But this coaching staff has work to do. Work to improve the play calling. Work to develop the kids. Work to coach harder. Work to win when they are supposed to. Work to step down if you’re not coaching up to standards. If this does not happen, prepare for more heartaches.

I mostly attribute this to his natural ability getting to meet game experience. In my opinion, he’s learning during the games, not the practices.

For the first time and in a long time I enjoyed Watching a Miami football game, felt even better when we were able to pull away.
If we can finish up and go 8-5 on the season that should be something to build off of this lost season
Agree that would be a positive way to end the season. However, in addition to the stuff every single thread is about these days, im concerned with Richt’s magical ability to figure out his team’s problems only after losing 4 in a row. 3 years in a row? Now it’s a thing, and I’ll expect to see it next year.

Euphoria?
I don't see it.

Relief would be a better description.

Lol nice

I have noticed that when the other team commits a blatant penalty(Facemask no call yesterday) that the refs seem to pretend they never saw it.

Oh wait that's been happening since the early 80's

How did the refs miss that? I find it hard to believe they didn’t see Cam get his neck twisted for 2 seconds as he’s carrying the ball.

What about the VT catch that got overturned? The back ref was standing literally 5 yards behind the play and somehow did not see the ball laying in the ground? They had a perfect camera angle that showed exactly what that ref saw and he called it a catch. After that I was thinking man it’s tough to play against 12 players.

True, also nice to get a win at a place like VT. However, lets not crown him yet, as you note, he shows promise but has a ways to go. VT was not a good team, but the great thing is we beat them as we should have, finally. Receivers need to help Perry as well, some really bad misses reminiscent of the Pitt game, thankfully it did not cost us the win.

Still want to see what Williams can do, and hope he gets some time this week and in the bowl game.

Winning is good, winning on the road is great, and winning on the road when you pull away in the 2nd half is even better. Although it's still hard to wrap my head around the fact that a season in which Miami beats FSU and VT will ultimately be viewed as a failure.

Forget about the offense for a second and let's talk defense. These guys always turn it on in the second half and give this team a legitimate chance to win in all its games, so I hate to be too critical.....but what goes on in the first half, specifically the first quarter? Why do they almost always come out looking so clueless? Obviously, the offense didn't struggle as much this game, so the typical slow start by the defense wasn't as much of an issue, thankfully.

On offense, practically everyone here wanted to see more spread, and we got it. Maybe that was only because the tight ends got injured, maybe not, but no matter - we saw more of it, and it worked. I've been screaming all season until I'm blue in the face to take that simple little flare-out pass to Thomas for 5+ yards a pop whenever it's obviously there, and we finally did it. Easy money! It's 5 yards if he just runs straight ahead a little, often 7-8 or even a first down if he just makes one guy miss. Oh yeah, and then what happened? I've been saying it all year too, get that stuff going, spread them all out, and then almost as if by magic, there's room for the running game all of a sudden. It's one way of mitigating your disadvantages on the offensive line.

The receivers - those drops were atrocious. I was particularly angered by the Homer drop on that wheel route. The route itself was a thing of beauty, loved it. I don't know what in the **** he was doing, though, it almost looked like he was afraid to catch the ball.

'Warrior' Perry showed out. And wouldn't you know the spread worked? Haaa Hopefully the Frosh TEs will be able to participate vs Pitt or in the bowl.

Defense looked good despite 56 Nightmares not playing. Amari's play count needs to increase. More press coverage please.

Yeah, that was even more egregious... ACC refs are either incompetent, corrupt or both. How the **** was that not reviewed?
