Ed, Dre, Vince and Gore are in. Ed is def 1st ballot and the others will have to wait.
I was going to create a thread about most under appreciated Canes from that class in the NFL, but F it, I’ll just hi jack this thread. Lol.
Go back and look at Portis stats; my dude got snubbed from several pro bowls. I didn’t even realize how good he really was until I went back and look. He should’ve been to at least 4 pro bowls in his 9 year career. Not saying he would’ve been in the HOF, but the case could’ve been argued b/c of how prolific he was.
If we talking underrated - WIllis McGahee. f*ck OSU and will allen for the dirty hit. Willis in Baltimore with Reed and Ray was one of my fav NFL seasons - the year the pats went undefeated and they went to Baltimore - i think it was a night game and ravens in black and purple. Willis had a game! but pats stole it.
Vince - Y
Dre - Y
Reed - Y
Gore - Y
Rolle - ?
Portis - ?
Willis - ?
Shockey - ?
Vilma - ?
That #2 in the mirrored orange visor and black cleats, OOOOOOOOWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!Willis is my favorite RB period, in Canes history. He was very much underrated, for sure
Andre Johnson is definitely getting in (the only current eligible WR with more than 14000 yds not yet in is Issac Bruce) but you are right that they'll probably make him wait a year or two as I believe he's also eligible at the same time as a handful of other big name wideouts too.
Now if he had played in a "big" market or for a marquee team instead of doing what he did (even more impressively, imo) on an often perennially bad team then these dopes would probably put him in on the first ballot.
the texans were really, really bad in his early career, and competitive just a few times towards the end (only had winning records 4 times in 11 seasons with 3 division titles). they didn't get to 8 wins until his 5th year and went over .500 for the first time in his 7th.
that being said, andre deserves the hall just for beating cortland finnegan's *** on the field.
