After the season is over Joe Jackson most likely will leave and Declare for the Draft. That leaves Rousseau,Garvin and Patchan as the remaining pass rushers. We have Harvey,Williams and Munoz commited right now. If we fail to land Bogle we could be in a bad place. I think we need to land atleast 4 DE this class

i'd take a juco de in this cycle if i were them. The current de commits are developmental , high ceiling guys. Would like to play the early entries and shirt one or 2 if can.

IMO, Jackson still needs to develop. He lacks that natural bend and technique of an elite DE. He relies way too much on his size and strength. Unless there is a good amount of improvement this year under Simpson, he needs to stay.

Needing to stay and staying arent the same thing. He has anywhere near double digit sacks he is GONE.

I personally dont think our pass rush will be as good as it was last year. Chad and Tool box were underrated as ****...we really havent replace that level of production or recruitment. Willis has potential of Mcintosh on the inside rushing the qb. I expect Rouseeau to be Garvin level of play when he is inserted. Like to see how D Jack and Patchan return.D Jack was real good before injury...could replace Chad's production.

Bogle is a must get and one of Summerall, Weaver, Ingraham (may become a DT) would help

If Bogle doesn't come I think it's full steam ahead on summerall. They could put Sam brooks at de for his first year for depth. He plays de for northwestern and is known as the real "sack master". They also have josey if sommerall and Bogle go else where.

Sam Brooks is WAY to small to play DE in the ACC. He is an OLB with supreme pass rush skills all the way.

I think we land Bogle and Weaver to finish the class. Seems like they're pretty cool with each other on twitter but who knows...

If not, there are still a lot of targets out there available at the DE position

Our pass rush could definitely be better than last year if we:
1. Have comparable push up the middle as last year.
2. If JJ developed and Garvin have developed.
3. If Patchan can give us quality snaps and stays healthy.
4. If Rousseau can give us some quality snaps.
5. If DJack can return to pre-injury form.

There are questions for sure, but the potential is there.

Munoz most likely a DT.

He has the frame to get the weight I said that if we whiff on targets have him play de year 1 but for depth in games like blowouts so he can see the field and not have our starters get hurt possibly

Bogle isn't committing until February. He had mentioned maybe doing it at the All Star game so now that he is going to the (used to be Army) all Star game, he will do it then. That's pretty late to start really targeting someone else. Have to be on all possible targets now.

We lost a ton of production off the Dl.

This is what I don’t get. The d line is paper thin and we’re still only targeting prospects that will need a year or 2 before they’re ready. All of our DE commits and targets are around 200lbs (Bogle, Harvey, Williams, Summerall. As far SDE, Munoz won’t be ready more than likely, as well as Ingram. You would think they would place an emphasis on going after some of the elite prospects that can play day 1 ( which Miami looks like it will need ). But what do I know 🤷🏾‍♂️

I agree, I see people are screaming top 15 pick for J Jackson. Show me a play where Joe Jack’s play noticeably jumped out on the screen, like a top 15 pick DE does. I’ll wait!

Hopefully he continues to develop nicely.

I would like to see them maybe bring in a Juco or a grad transfer that can come in and be ready to play immediately. Otherwise, i'm not overly concerned. You only play with 2 DEs at a time and rarely rotate more than two or three off the bench anyway. Plus, you can always sub a pass rushing specialist/LB type in obvious passing situations.

Scott Patchan's importance is through the roof. You could make the argument that he's one of the 5 most important players on the team in terms of him being healthy and productive this season and being counted on next season. I know his situation thoroughly, but the bottom line is he has made exactly 0.0 plays so far in his career and he ABSOLUTELY MUST contribute a ton next year. That's not exactly a promising situation.

With the new RS rules, we can play everyone 4 games and still shirt them. I would play all of them as much as you can and the ones with the best stats after 4 games burn the shirt. You could play on per game rotating who plays for the first four games... lots of options at this point to get PT and figure out which ones are gamers ready for more PT.
