What’s the deal with the Ads?

It is awful on mobile web browser. I understand the 25 dollar thing, but as a business trying to attract eyeballs - can't imagine many first timers will browse the forums and be interested in returning. Threads are almost impossible to read through in one shot because these big *** ads don't load right away; when you are reading something, if an ad decides to load, the whole page jumps and you are looking at some other comment.

By far this is the worst site I’ve ever seen when it comes to ads. When 90% of what I see are ads, I’m closing out the page and it may be a day or two before I come back. Unbelievable when I’m going through a page on my phone browser and have to see pages of ads between each post. May as well just shut down the free site and make it premium only.

Did it get worse this month with the new publishers? Is it a mobile thing or desktop too?

It's both, with mobile being the worse of the two. Each reply in a thread has two very large vertically stacked ads between the next reply. In a nut shell, each page is about 85% ads and 15% Canesinsight. I do agree with another poster that new people to the site may be driven away.

It’s gotten worse. I mainly read on Google chrome on my iPhone.

And listen I’m not one to complain with free stuff but it’s getting out of hand.

Definitely cutting down on logging on because of it.

Nothing is more annoying than reading a post and then an ad loads and you lose the post you were reading.

Unfortunate that we’ve come to this after so many great years. Ads are too much. Feels like one of those cooking recipe sites with the number and frequency of ads.

Isn't it more lucrative for CIS to have ads? Why is the chamge here more overwhelming than almost any other website? Android phone with chrome almost unreadable.

The problem is that there are a fixed number of ads to show at any given time. So every user with Adblock just pushes their ads onto the users without it. In a year I expect that some people will have to scroll three pages to get past the nun ****.
For some, that is a feature
