What’s going on with Damari Brown?

Judging a DB purely by highlight plays is backwards. At corner when your name isn't being called, it usually means you're in phase and doing your job. That's the entire point of mentioning his PFF grade his grades every single snap in coverage not just the 3 or 4 times a game the ball happens to come his way. Also saying besides the tipped pass that caused an INT against ND and tackling well behind the LOS, what has he done?' is brushing off two huge parts of playing the position.

Alright guys, this is my last time addressing it. Him making one play on the ball in 3 years, and being a good tackler behind the LOS isn’t enough to warrant him “really good”, when he gets beat PLENTY. He hasn’t made ONE play on the ball down the field in coverage, literally not one since being at UM. He has been turned around and beaten plenty, every single year that he has played. Yes, CBs get beat, even the best of them. But the good ones make plays too to help even it out, Damari does not.

OJ, XL, and EOC are all 100000% objectively better. I think Jaboree is too, but he hasn’t had the opportunity to really show it yet. But have at it, you are entitled to your opinion. We can agree to disagree.

just a repost so people can understand..

From my understanding he has turf toe (since we treat injuries like state secrets maybe many think he is just glass or something), which can be a debilitating, devastating, career threatening injury.. Most dont understand how bad it can be overall even for a CB.. Sucks because people dont realize how bad and dangerous that injury is, I know he going thru it just by the way he has been playing this season. The jokes are OD honestly..

When get a chance just read up a lil on its affects and have some compassion what someone on the team you say you root for may be going thru..

no expert on turf toe …. I know a lot of athletes have had it.. so your saying basically his career is over??

It was all these miami podcasters for the past 2 years claiming he was a 1st round corner and best cb on the team.
this is ahistorical. He started a few games as a true freshman in ‘23. Started against UF in ‘24 and missed the next ten games. Started in 5 of the 12 games last year; including the four in the final month. Made all-acc honorable mention; voters def aren’t miami podcasters. If you wanna blame somebody, blame PFF:

This was from last year when we were 5-0

Against Syracuse he was a top 10 performer:

CB DAMARI BROWN - 75.4 GRADE

Snaps: 51

Brown was credited with five tackles on the official stat sheet. According to PFF, Brown earned a 74.0 coverage grade and an 80.3 tackling grade. Brown did not miss a tackle on the day and according to PFF, he was targeted three times in coverage and allowed one reception for six yards.

Again:
2. CB DAMARI BROWN - 87.6 GRADE
Snaps: 25

Brown was excellent on Sunday night, playing a key role in generating a Rueben Bain interception in the second half that provided three points from the offense. Brown forced a quick pass to the perimeter to be broken up and the ball to be popped up in the air, allowing for the interception. Brown did not miss a tackle and allowed one reception for nine yards on the day. He earned an 89.9 coverage grade.

Brown isn’t very good. Always heard he’s banged up, just needs to be healthy, but I think at this point, this is who he is. Maybe he can play safety
