What’s going on with Damari Brown?

just a repost so people can understand..

From my understanding he has turf toe (since we treat injuries like state secrets maybe many think he is just glass or something), which can be a debilitating, devastating, career threatening injury.. Most dont understand how bad it can be overall even for a CB.. Sucks because people dont realize how bad and dangerous that injury is, I know he going thru it just by the way he has been playing this season. The jokes are OD honestly..

When get a chance just read up a lil on its affects and have some compassion what someone on the team you say you root for may be going thru..

I got it once. Ppl truly have no idea how much it hurts unless you had the injury. If that is what he is dealing with, why didn’t he have surgery?

It’s excruciating pain. I had to walk in the outside of my foot for like a month. I still don’t have flexibility in my toe. Can’t do walking lunges or anything. It messed my toe up for good. It’s crazy I used to read about players being out for turf toe and thought they were just weak until I really understood what the injury was.

Now that's a lie Damari Brown had one of the highest pff grade last year at DB on this team.

I don’t give a **** about PFF
Can you name one play that Damari has made since he has been a Miami Hurricane? The tip that led to the INT against ND is literally the only thing he has done since he has been here. Not trying to knock the kid, just telling the truth. Give me one play. He is only useful if the ball is behind the LOS and he has to come up and make a tackle. Anything more than 5 yards down the field, buckle up.

Damari is a safety playing corner.. hes bigger than most safeties. He has some ability in man coverage but he’s missing the natural instincts to be good enough in man coverage for this level.

Reminds me of James Williams both came out of American Heritage and both were stubborn against moving to a position they would likely have more success in based on their physical traits.
Williams should have been a linebacker in college. Lucky enough for him, an NFL coach saw that and realized it.

He has been dealing with it since UF '24 right? It seems like a chronic issue and while he try to play for us our fans just **** on him his whole career.. This is a career ending injury.. and it can **** with your mental health because everyone is ****ting on you and you trying to play.. Sucks..

Thank you for reading up how debilitating it is, for some reason people dont realize how bad it is..

Passed up by Mack?? Surprising… we thought we were winning the championship with this guy if he was healthy last year. Mack played well on relief but jeeeshhh what a fall from grace
It’s weird and honestly kind of blowing my mind. Last year at times he was the best cornerback on the field for us but now all of a sudden, he looks completely lost out there.. there were times last year and the season before when I would’ve said this guy is an NFL cornerback. Based on what I’ve seen this season, no way.. hopefully he can figure it out and get back to his old self. And I don’t wanna hear any nonsense about oh well he had turf toe, he’s healed up now and turf. Toe doesn’t make you feel lost out on the field.

I mean if that were true he'd just be out completely instead of playing though. Unless he's just playing through it and never letting it heal.

Regardless he's passed up on the depth chart and has had 1 solid-good game in his career - last yr ND. So... whatever. Only matters to us right now cause all our CBs are hurt.

He never was really good, and never showed anything to earn that stamp from anyone.
That’s not true man, that’s flat out false. There were times last year when he was healthy, that he was the best cornerback on the field for us last year. I know he has been hot garbage this year, but there were times when he was actually pretty good on the field for us. The problem is, no one knows where that man went.

he has missed huge chunks of time thru out his career here, Im sure he gave it a go to try to hold down the fort but will probably shut it down soon.. He not even the same player as before, go look at the force he tackled with in that uf game and now.. Im not ****ting on player who got career altering injury.. makes no sense..

“That’s not true, that’s flat out false”. He was literally never our best CB, like not even close. He has been passed up by Ryan Mack and once XL and Jaboree are back, he won’t be seeing the field. Crazy for someone that was “our best” at one point.

But you’re entitled to your opinion, 🤷🏾‍♂️.

Didn't Keionte have to deal with turf toe last year? My recollection is that he went out of state, on his own dime, to see a specialist. If that is not correct, someone let me know. If true, I would imagine that Keionte and Damari would have discussed the specialist.

Are we certain the coaches didn't just realize he wasn't healthy enough to keep playing last night? Having trouble believing that we would bench an experienced corner option for a bad rep or two with how depleted our corner room is right now.

There are different grades and severity of injury and if he been dealing with it this long its got to be chronic.. We barely know anything about these kids injuries so hard to compare..

he only had a few snaps last week as well

On second drive of game he gave little to no effort on a screen play sent his way. On the third drive he got cooked on 3rd down. Then didn’t see him again.

So he’s either playing hurt or they finally just gave up on him.

I think he's a LB now

Imo Damari fully bought in as a LBer could dominate. He has the frame that could add 20 pounds and be a real problem. Shaq Thompson still making money in the NFL bc he moved to linebacker.
I mean we can say this with his frame but I just don’t think he’s physical enough to play. I feel like he struggles to tackle and she blocked from receivers. Dont think he’s look great playing LB

Judging a DB purely by highlight plays is backwards. At corner when your name isn't being called, it usually means you're in phase and doing your job. That's the entire point of mentioning his PFF grade his grades every single snap in coverage not just the 3 or 4 times a game the ball happens to come his way. Also saying besides the tipped pass that caused an INT against ND and tackling well behind the LOS, what has he done?' is brushing off two huge parts of playing the position.
