Werner vs Olson vs Nix vs Whipple vs Fisch vs Coley

Can we call come to a consensus that Patrick Nix WAS and IS the worst coordinator in the history of CFB? AND HE GOT A SECOND YEAR!!!! I remember being lucky if we got over 100 yards passing. 200 yards PASSING was unthinkable!!

After Shannon gave Nix a 2nd year Shannon should have been fired. I wonder what Whipple might have been able to do if he hadn't had to rebuild from Nix's mess.

Get out of here with that. He wanted Randy's job because he would have been better in that position than Randy. I'll never forget how he came unglued when Randy called a timeout when Whipple had the O cutting through Clemson's D before the half. Whipple didn't destroy any QBs. He never had a real one to work with here. It had to be infuriating having a head coach that didn't know how to use freaking timeouts.
Rank them. This has got to be the worst stretch of 6 straight offensive coordinators any team's ever had.

People seem to regard Fisch better than the other 5, but if he had stayed for Golden's whole tenure I'd assume we'd regard him just as badly as the other OCs.

Ever since Chudzinski left this has been awful.

1. Werner
2. Olson
3. Fisch
4.Coley
5.Nix
6. Whipple

Whipple was the absolute worst offensive coordinator ever. he ruined qbs like it was is job. He wanted Randys job BAD and it was obvious. They both would have been sucky head Coaches.

He would have been better at it? On what grounds? No way in **** that arrogant blowhard could ever relate to anything South Florida. Recruiting would have fell through the floor. Whipple would have been worst or just as bad as Randy.

Whipple destroyed qbs. FOH with that nonsense. No qb would have thrived under Whipple. The air Coryell system just doesn't work without all- world tackles and an all world RB. Whipple system was a detriment to the talent base like donofrio's was.

Fisch took the same broken qbs that whipple couldn't do anything with and turned them into serviceable/better players. Great coaches MAKE things work. Whipple was terrible.

would get two stars with whipple.......cfb is a job where its two parts recruiting and coaching and recruiting is the number one priority. Whipple would of been a real bad hire worst then radio

If you honestly believe Whipple was worse than Nix you need serious, serious help.

Not that I'd want Whipple as head coach but could he possibly be any worse than Golden and Shannon? Those 2 are the worst 2 coaches in CFB history. Well maybe they're in a 3 way tie with Mike London for worst cfb coach ever. Although even the white posters on this board rarely admit that Shannon was every bit as bad as Golden. (Maybe even ever so slightly worse since Golden followed an awful coach in Shannon while Shannon followed a mere mediocre coach in Coker.)

Anybody who has Whipple in their top 3 is a fuggin idiot.

I was going to put Whipple and Nix at a tie for last place but there is/was no excuse for Whipple's arrogance. He was the offensive donofrio.

Refused to run the ball no matter how obvious it was that his offense didn't work.

Nix sucked bad, but he also didn't have any talent whatsoever to work with. Albeit, he'd still suck. He's at least got an excuse.

Whipple could have done sooo much more here if he had just tweaked the system a bit. But dude was stubborn as **** and his offense cost us a lot of games.

QB throwing picks? Run the fuggin ball!!!

It was obvious Jacory nor the offensive line could run that system; but what we could do is run the ball and that's what we should have been doing. So imo, Whipple is the worst.

They all sucked...with the exception of Nix, they all tried to fit square pegs in round holes. Watching Jacory trying to 5 step drop was painful. Ditto with Wright under Werner, we should've used Wright's athleticism more in a zone read type offense.

And that's right, I said "with the exception of Nix"...couldn't call plays for $h!t, but at least He had the right idea with trying to run some semblance of the spread with that 08' class.

You are a moron. Donofrio was a better coordinator than Nix was. Yes even Donofrio wasn't Nix level awful. Although at least Shannon sent Nix away after 2 years while Golden never fired Dorito.

The only reason why we were able to even win 12 games with Nix as OC is because we had a good DC with Bill Young. (Who unfortunately was bribed away from Miami by T Boone Pickens at the same time Nix was axed.) Without Bill Young Randy would have gone around 7-17 or 8-16 in 07-08 and would have been fired himself after 2 years.

And you read $h!t that doesn't even exist, which is worse than lack of reading comprehension. With that said, where did I say that Nix was even a decent coordinator?

Whipped had one good game and that was when we beat FSU Labor Day night. Whipped gets a lot of hate but jacory was not the right type of QB for his system. None the less I don't think he would have succeeded here as HC anyway

Fisch was probably the best OC we've had in the last 10 years

Nix was absolutely HORRIBLE, and his obsession with bubble screens nearly drove me insane

Whipple wasn't terrible, but he was a miserable as*hole

Coley thought he was playing NCAA 2014 the whole time

Werner/Olsen were pretty much interchangeable from what I recall

Werner Klemperer (way old cultural reference)
Gorton's Fischerman (newer cultural referance)
Mrs. Olsen (old cultural reference)
Mr. Whipple (old cultural reference)
Coley's Collars (very new cultural reference)
President Nix(on) (Born the year of the Watergate Break In by CREEP agents...Should have been a sign)

Werner Klemperer = Colonel Klink
Mr. Whipple = The guy from the old school Charmin commercials "Don't squeeze the Charmin!"
Mrs. Olsen = The lady in the Folgers coffee commercials.

I guess I'm a fuggin idiot then. I disagree because the alternative is to have Olson, Coley or Nix in your top 3. I'm not a Whipple fan but he was in a bad situation trying to coach under Radio. It all starts at the top and the head was rotting. Coley had zero clue about route trees and combinations. His route concepts made no sense and he had no feel for the flow of the game. Olsen was just plain garbage and Nix may be the worst OC of all time. Nix called one good game in his tenure here. That was the game against TAMU on Thursday night in 07 I believe.

All of them sucked.... Say who is better is like comparing **** to ****... Like someone said earlier, no good OC since chud

LOL @ Whipple sucked because of Shannon...no, He sucked on His own. By His 2nd year, that offense was predictable as $h!t, and it was clear as day He couldn't develop QBs. Jacory kept making the same mistakes over and over and over again...27 INTS. The only reason we even won 7 games in 2010, was because of that defense. So to me it's Fisch,Coley,Olson,Nix,Werner & Whipple.

Rank 1-5 however you want, but Nix is last by a long shot. He hasn't sniffed a college job since like 2012, so the coaching community thinks he's he worst too. The other 5 are still at the college or pro level.
