Rank them. This has got to be the worst stretch of 6 straight offensive coordinators any team's ever had.

People seem to regard Fisch better than the other 5, but if he had stayed for Golden's whole tenure I'd assume we'd regard him just as badly as the other OCs.

Ever since Chudzinski left this has been awful.

Fisch
Whipple
Werner (Olsen)
Olsen (Werner)
Coley (at least he could find and recruit good QB's)
Nix (IMO, the Worst OC in FBS, ever!)

Man, that was depressing. :stephenahand:

Whipple was the absolute worst offensive coordinator ever. he ruined qbs like it was is job. He wanted Randys job BAD and it was obvious. They both would have been sucky head Coaches.

Get out of here with that. He wanted Randy's job because he would have been better in that position than Randy. I'll never forget how he came unglued when Randy called a timeout when Whipple had the O cutting through Clemson's D before the half. Whipple didn't destroy any QBs. He never had a real one to work with here. It had to be infuriating having a head coach that didn't know how to use freaking timeouts.

Whipple was bad, but he at least went in the ball game with a plan. Yea, I know. "Throw it deep", don't seem like a solid plan, but it worked when Harris had time. Harris, didn't check the ball down enough, which led to a lot of interceptions. Nix, on the other hand, was wayyyyy worse. Having a HC like Randy running the show, ****ing away TO like they were going outta style, didn't help matters, either.

Olsen and Nix should be in a last place tie. Olson deserves extra awfulness points for sucking as OC in 2 different stints at Miami. He also was the OC for the later, less successful Erickson days where we won games by scores like 8-7.

He would have been better at it? On what grounds? No way in **** that arrogant blowhard could ever relate to anything South Florida. Recruiting would have fell through the floor. Whipple would have been worst or just as bad as Randy.

Whipple destroyed qbs. FOH with that nonsense. No qb would have thrived under Whipple. The air Coryell system just doesn't work without all- world tackles and an all world RB. Whipple system was a detriment to the talent base like donofrio's was.

Fisch took the same broken qbs that whipple couldn't do anything with and turned them into serviceable/better players. Great coaches MAKE things work. Whipple was terrible.

Don't know why people kill Whipple. Guy was good but what pressure did Jacory have on him to cut down on stupid throws? You guys actually thought Randy would bench Jacory?

But Harris never had time. That system leaves qbs out to dry waaaay to often. It does in the NFL too. The last great success with that offense came from the greatest show on turf and that team had an all pro qb, rb, two wrs, and LT.

Dude, i dissected so many of those games. Whipple rarely ever had a checkdown. His checkdown would be a 15 yard hitch.

Dude would leave no outlet for his qbs. I challenge you to go back and watch some of those games. Whipple was not a good check down coach. Cuz its not like Stemo came in checking it down too.

On what grounds? He, at the very least, knew how the **** to work timeouts.

Fisch was good here, I give him that, but he didn't turn Jacory into anything other than what he always was. Morris was young under Whipple, so that does that even count as an inability to develop him? I don't think so. Whipple had one QB while he was here, and that was the pick machine.

Mr. Whipple (old cultural reference)
Coley's Collars (very new cultural reference)
President Nix(on) (Born the year of the Watergate Break In by CREEP agents...Should have been a sign)

I shouldn't even entertain that nonsense bro. We both know it takes more than managing timeouts to be a good HC. Les Miles hasn't managed timeouts well his entire career. Is that stopping him from running a successful program?

Stop it. Whipple was terrible and would have never done any more than Randy. If you think managing timeouts makes you hc material then ........ :ignore2:

You're talking out of your ***. Jacory never completed 60% of his passes under Whipple and never threw less than 10 interceptions.
First year with Fisch he hits 65% completion with 20td to 9ints with a QBR of 150.6

Whipple coached Stephen for one year and he threw 7 tds to 9ints. Those stats, just like jacorys' are indicative of Whipple's lack of development but mostly playcalling and formations/set use.

Whipples best game here was vs Oklahoma when both our Rbs churned out 100 yards on their defense. He never called plays like that again.

Seems to me the only person putting Whipple at the top of a "worst" list is you.

Ok, I never mind being the only smart person in the room.

For years on many boards i was the only person saying Al Golden would NEVER be successful here. After i paid **** near 1000 dollars to sit in the rain and watch that guy get outcoached by Randy Friggin Edsall i knew he was not a good coach and would never be. No remotely decent coach allows a team to run the same play all game long and not adjust in the slightest bit.

I ran to the hilltops with my frustration only to be called every " Arm-chair" coach insult you can think of. And for awhile, i was the only one.Especially on the ESPN/ACC boards... So trust me when i say i don't mind being separated from the majority.

. I don't concern myself with the opinions of others when I can see with my own eyes; so who cares if im the only person who lists whipple at the top?

Most people can't even name his offensive system so why would i care what they think?

Mark Whipple, imo was the worst OC to coach here in the last ten years. Especially when taking everything into account.

I agree. I always thought Whipple might be a decent OC who seemed bad because he was coaching under Randy. He also may have been more suited to the NFL than to college although I'm not really sure. He pretty much killed his career when he joined Randy's staff because previously he had been an extremely hot NFL offensive coordinating prospect.
