Probably because he can be a monster in pass protection at that size. My theory is that Lashlee wasn't happy with the performance of the RBs on inside zone/zone read and Duo plays, and Brown has a good skillset for those schemes. Ideally Chaney progresses with those run schemes after excelling...

Thad at 240 as a freshman RB is not a good sign.
It’s either he can’t stop eating or he is the next Jerome Betis.
I haven’t seen him lately so I ain’t gonna judge and say he’s fat.
However, idk why people were so down on Brown considering his numbers in that state and in that district. His production was freakish. Yes so was Franklin’s but 240??!!! In some of his senior highlights he looked too big and slow.

Fournette showed up at the combine at 240 and people were saying that he was too heavy and some GMs didn’t like that at all.
