That’s the point. We don’t want fast, violent, twitchy LB’s. We want mature LB’s, ones that think out there on the field. Leaders of men.5.2 aint very fast my friend
We tried that with al folden and his buddy. That’s the point. We don’t want fast, violent, twitchy LB’s. We want mature LB’s, ones that think out there on the field. Leaders of men.
tonight we saw where Miami stood in the college football hierarchy, and unfortunately that's several rungs below the elite. The Canes are the 'not ready for prime time players.' Thus far from what I've seen in 2020, Clemson and Georgia are by far the two best teams physically -- the difference being that Clemson has a future NFL franchise QB
It's clear, UM needs bigger, faster WR's that can make plays on the ball. Faster, twitchier athletes at linebacker, and keep developing that Oline unit.
But again, dumb mental errors just crippled Miami again at the worst times. I really question the football IQ of this team - and to me, that's a reflection of the coaching they receive.
Now, looking ahead, still plenty of football left to be played. Lets see if Manny Diaz can have this team re-focused for high noon vs a difficult Pitt team, or if it's the same ol', same ol'
This only leads to more of the same. We have to fix what's broken first. Then talent addition will make an impact.Recruit recruit recruit. We aren’t close at some positions. We got a bunch of Jags in the o-line. You see what 5 stars do to lowly ranked 3 stars on the line. LB recruiting has and still is a big question mark. WR it’s time to give the young kids a shot.
brevin looks like he separated his shoulder so he is probably out long term. Not sure where the offense goes from here moving forward.

Brevin said he's fine for Pitt.
Great news. The way he was hanging his arm and then he was in a sling with ice didn’t look good. Where did you see he is fine?
Real recognizes real. Manny’s fake swag is getting old. The smoke and mirrors bull**** isn’t going to last much longer. We lose to Pitt next week and I’ve seen enough. It would just be the same show with new faces. If manny and his machismo, fake swag *** wants me to come around then he needs to do what we should be able to do and that is beat every other team in a horrible conference. Clemson is playing a different game right now. The rest of these clowns are not and should be put down. Otherwise it needs to be back to the sunbelt for the staph

we have lacked explosive strength since Butch's guy Moffit left and went to LSU,,,,,I’m not talking about tonight alone. We can’t get push against anybody
No, Clemson has better scouting and coaching than us. They knew our weaknesses, game planned accordingly, de-nutted us from the get go. If that blocked fg attempt doesn’t happen, we’re only 7 points better than last year. That’s with an elite qb on our roster. And again, we had extra days to prepare for them. Exactly what does this team do (including the coaches) with the extra days? I always hear crickets for the first 7 days, then Manny has a mini press conference about starting to prepare for the opponent. Digest that!Did Clemson have copies of our playbook? Seemed like they knew in advance what we were going to run on offense. If your defensive ends are going to keep crashing inward and leaving the outside uncovered, you can expect the other team to take advantage of it. Some of the play calling was bewildering, both on offense and defense.
The difference between us versus them. They lost players, but reloaded. We lost players, but do not have replacements equal to what we lost.
Compare Miami now to Clemson in year 3 of Dabos tenure. Who looked further away? After a 6-7 season, Dabo made huge changes in successive years. First, he hired Morris who brought the spread to Clemson. They went 10-4 that first year. If we'd been playing a regular acc schedule, I honestly think we would have rolled into the acc championship game 10-1, possibly 11-0. And we'd probably still get crushed by Clemson. That doesn't mean the season was fraudulent. You know how Clemson ended that 10 win season in year 4? With a 70-33 loss to W. VA. Their inaugural season with Morris wasn't a fraud. Kevin Steele is a very good DC (Clemson had a T25 D) , but Dabo replaced him anyways after a 10 win season because of "philosophical differences." Venables had a top 10 D at Oklahoma. And then Clemson really became Clemson. I don't think Baker is a terrible DC, but Diaz needs to finish the staff transformation and upgrade at DC. Even after all those changes it still took another 3 years to make it to the national championship.
One important aspect of that was that both Venables and Morris were still the coordinators so you had upper classmen that they recruited and coached. Miami has to find a way to get Lashlee to stay for 3 years and I think we will see the offense with the playmakers we've dreamed of. On the other side, I think Diaz really needs to get a DC that focuses on running a sound, disciplined defense.
Time Bomb, great post. And yeah, here's the issue - does Manny have the guts to tell certain guys on the staff, 'Hey, you're a swell guy, but this is nothing personal.'? That's the big question in my view. Dabo is a savage in his own way, he's ruthless in the pursuit of winning and getting better
This loss was what it was
What Im interested in is the next three games (Pitt, UVa and NCState) three games they can/should win, or one they could lose. Last year, if Im not mistaken, Miami lost three times (at least twice) as 14+ favorites, which was some sort of historical achievement. The way I look at it, just racking up victories against ACC teams that they should beat, is a significant step. Lets see if Manny can actually steady the ship and rebound. If he can't, he's not the guy, bottom line
BTW, sincee around 2012 or 2013, starting with Clemson's last second victory over LSU in Tajh Boyd's last game, that program has notched as many victories vs brand name programs as anybody, and many have been blowouts in big situations. It's impressive what Dabo has built up there...
The self inflicted stuff was the worst tonight and most frustrating thing. Personnel stuff we can’t really control once we are lining up and playing. We have to roll with what we have but when we kill ourselves consistently and put ourselves in bad spot after bad spot, it is 1000% a reflection on Manny and Co. Like I mentioned in the game thread, Amari didnt want to play. Theres no way he didnt do that on purpose. I refuse to believe he is THAT dumb.
Good to see a few guys continue to fight. Bolden, 15, JHH, Frierson, King and I may be forgetting a couple more but those guys didn’t stop.
Extremely disappointed to see 44 and 53 continue to trout out there. We have 3 got **** LB coaches basically, one of them mfs needs to get 6 ready to play more snaps. I havent seen McCloud or Jennings hit a back in the hole like he did all year and then double back and get their hands on the ball. I dont think 44 or 53 have made a play on the ball in the air their whole career lol.
2nd most frustrating thing...how tf long are we going to go through with this 3/6/8 experiment. They are like middle school kids out there. They dont fight for the ball, they give us absolutely NOTHING after the catch, they cannot separate against DBs that dont play for FSU and they only catch the ball 75% of the time. I don’t get it lol.
