I thought i'd never say this but, I dont think there is room for another LB(Shakur Cooper) in this class, they probably have bunch of tabs on him since he only comiited to FIU. I could see as swooping to get him near NSD though

He doesn't even have Maryland

. I was wrong about VT as well.

UM is thinking this kid will turn into another Olsen Pierre. Problem is with the a Top 3 class you should not have to make players into DT's when there are tons of 300+lbs monsters still uncommitted. This kid is at least 3 years away from being a quality contributor.

I am floored by this strategy this early in recruiting it is almost sending a signal that staff has given up on DT recruiting for 2016. Now the only saving grace is that staff shown in the past they have noooo problem dropping recruits they team on, when a better prospect comes along an hopefully the defensive philosophy will attract some of these players. Because this kid got owned at Rivals Richmond camp, an considering speed is supposed to be his strong point, he has consistently cut off to the outside by the blockers kick step. An he didn't have the power to bull rush the blocker when he was cut off.

In his high school video he plays with good leverage but that is not against top tier online high school talent, which is why he was exposed at the Rivals camp. But with all that said I say welcome to the U young man an he needs to hit a lot of camps to learn some more techniques.

Another Olsen Pierre, what was so god about the original one.very mediocre at his best here.

I will never speak badly about a former player!

To answer question I didn't say OP was a great player. In Al Golden's mind he is seeing another OP, and to him that is a standard he is happy with apparently. Remember AG's defensive philosophy deemphasizes the dline so identifying war daddy game changer types is harder for him coming from a PSU, BC, UVA, and Temple background all whom during his time never had dominant dline play or players. Muhammad at Temple I count as an anomaly which he was due after a decade plus of coaching in college. I am hoping Golden will adapt and change some of his philosophy toward the dline and type of players he wants.

I dont think they have given up, I think they knw they have former 5 star Gerald Willis waiting cause he might have to sit out and their no 1 target Keyshon Camp is most likely gone.... get Aaron Thompson on Board and shut down DT recruiting IMO

Let me put it this way Miami is taking commits from a player like Izon and FSU is stock piling straight monsters like 2016 DT Cedric Wood not the difference in his highlights below.

Shocked right now, to be real I have never worried about our coaches DE evaluation but this kid is not power five material. Depending on his position, for DT I would have rather went with McCrary from mainland or for DE I would rather wait for bethel/burns or look elsewhere.

I mean this is the only commited D Line prospect so PLENTY of room for Bethel

Edit* Joshua Uche, Jaquan nelson and Joe Jackson also DE's but i expect Uche to be in a Tyriq McCord role

I would love to get Bethel on board. Should be easy right.. Since his pops played here, but no! I personally think Uche will grow into a nice 4-3 end. He has a frame to build on. Outside of Uche and Joe Jackson..the ends looks pretty pathetic. Nelson is too slow and not explosive and Pulley is slow for a DE and too small for a DT. DL recruiting needs a change.

man, DT recruiting really is bad. kid looks like a serviceable player in this system at best, this is a down year in SF for DT's so we gotta be scouring the country for DT's now.

No need to leave the south Georgia and Louisiana is loaded with DT's.

I haven't seen a single soul on Twitter, TOSs, etc happy about this commitment...I feel bad for the kid, but Miami needs to do better. Is this kid better than Aaron Thompson, on film doesn't look like it?

Willis is a DE not DT. An Thompson is a plan B kid all the way. Camp is OVERRATED big time. There are threads and videos about that, so I won't go into it.

Gotta show that you can make DTs look good before you can get the good ones, this is a down year in SoFl for DTs, and we arent getting any top DTs any time soon these are the type of kids in that position you are going to see
