MEGA Week 9 Games Thread 🎃👻💀

Thoughts on Baylor promoting Klanderman to permanent HC?
Dude has worked for some good programs, coaches and knows the Big12.
Would see a lot of positives to it however cannot imagine it happening after their AD (?) put out the prerequisite of deep Texas ties…..certainly other programs will look kindly on Klanderman if he keeps winning

Somebody explain to me what’s going on with Tulane’s helmet design, looks like a bad Picasso imitation.

If you’re a child of the 90s or got the hand-me-downs, reminds me of this old brand.

Scott Frost bought himself some time, and UCF will be patient with him, i just wonder how patient.

Probably UCF will be patient because they’re not a high profile program, and who else are they going to get.

But this is looking to me like the Nebraska Scott Frost, his trend the last few years is really bad. Hard to explain why, because he was a hot commodity and generally well regarded after his first stint at UCF.

He doesn't appear to be a good recruiter.
I realize he's at a Big12 school so he is not going to beat the big programs for the 4 and 5 stars, but it appears he's not getting many of the 2nd tier players from Florida either. I barely recognize these players except for the former FIU qb from Miami Central.

lol does he have any skills? Would seem like a nightmare matchup but who is the tallest superstar WR ever? Calvin “Megatron” Johnson at 6’5? I remember watching him beat us at Gatech when they were running the option offense. I had a friend that played for Gatech. I actually got to go back after the game and meet him. He is a genuinely good dude. I told him I was ****ed as I was wearing my UM gear. I was surprised the coaches even let me back there.
Harold Carmichael was 6-8 or 6-9 playing for the Eagles in the mid-late 70s.

There’s a fascinating excerpt from the memoir of the Nebraska AD who hired Scott Frost. TLDR he interviewed frost with his wife present, and after the interview his wife told him he’d be screwed if he hired that guy; but he felt like he didn’t have a choice lmao

A high profile booster wouldn’t even let him pursue Chip Kelly (who I highly doubt would’ve chosen Nebraska considering he said no to UF for UCLA)

To be fair, Aranda had some pretty good defenses at Wisconsin and lsu.
Beat us in 2018 at LSU, and had just gone 12-2 in 2021. Wasn’t an illogical name for the wishlist at all lol.

He also mos def wanted the job. As Mario says, he was up against some monsters (Lane being one of em) for this gig

Strong coaches all over the country are struggling with sustainability because they don’t dare to put in the time and effort Mario does into culture, staff choice, relationship building, and overall talent acquisition
