Week 9 ACC matchups

I think the records are very important here. I've said since the beginning of the season, with a 17 team league, you're not making the championship game with 2 conference losses. Nothing I've seen thus far has backed me off that opinion. ****, reading this board you'd think the whole league is winning all their games going forward (except us, of course). But, to me, this is an 8 team race for 2 spots:

GT 4-0
UVA 3-0
SMU 3-0
Pitt 3-1
Duke 3-1
Louisville 2-1
Cal 2-1
Miami 1-1

Two of those teams will be in Charlotte.

We play SMU and Pitt, so we can knock off 2 of those ourselves. That leaves 6 for 2 spots.

So really, the only games this weekend that matter are:

Cal @ VT (VT -5.5)
Cuse @ GT (GT -17.5)
UVA @ UNC (UVA -10.5)
BC @ Louisville (Louisville -25.5)

I think SMU ultimately beats Wake but gets into a dogfight in doing so. They'll likely be looking ahead to us, and playing at a half empty Wake at noon won't exactly get them pumped. Wake also should've beat GT.

Wake has been a sneaky good team this season. In reality, they should be 5-1. They got hosed by ACC refs vs. GT by an egregious blown call that would’ve sealed the game.

Really, they could be undefeated, but NCSt. hawked them down. That’s the one, true, defeat in my eyes. The ACC should’ve disciplined the refs vs. GT; just an inexcusable miss. ****ert (pause) is a **** good coach. He does more w less.

His record may not reflect what he brings to the table, but here are some of the point differentials in these L’s he’s had as a clear underdog:

2021:
#24 Utah State (3)
#19 BYU (2)

2022:
#15 Oregon (3)
#10 Utah (4)

2023:
#2 Washington (3)

2025:
#7 GT (1)

SMU better be on high alert b/c he gets his team up for big time matchups, barely losing in most contest.

SMU isn’t ranked

If they do beat wake, are they ranked vs Miami?

I think Wake beats SMU.

North Carolina under Bill Bell check is absolutely terrible, they suck, they get trolled by everybody.

Virginia has danced with the Devil recently though

Maybe old Bill has one time that he could look at their last two weeks of tape and actually put a defense on in Virginia is caught looking like everybody else seems to have one game like that this year

I don’t know, but the way this season is going in college football and the line not even being that big as I thought it would be. Maybe he pulls off a miracle and he gets a congratulations bang from JORDON after.

This week will go chalk. Any takers?

Probably a cop out because it’s the smallest spread, but VT can beat Duke.

What’s the record of the east coast ACC teams playing on the west coast, and vice versa? I know we should’ve lost to Cal last year. I know Cal lost to FSU last year. I know Stanford beat FSU this year. I think that cross-country trip is harder than people think. Wouldn’t be shocked to see VT get Cal.

The others though, I’m with you. I see GT, Louisville, and UVA all winning easily.

I love and hate these threads

When you put it all down on paper…my god the ACC ******* sucks

And we aren’t even on top of it…

Ok that’s enough time to hit the gym and let it go

Enjoy your Saturday and let’s just dominate these nerds tonight

Leg day like usual?

"Just talked to my buddy who’s a Wake alum. The whole program is “chomping at the bit” to end SMU’s 20-game conference win streak. This is the biggest game in Winston Salem in years, not to mention it’s also homecoming."

Saw this on X.....
