MEGA Week 6 Games Thread

Even the "driving the qb into the ground with your body weight" discretion is too subjective in bang bang situations.

The NFL went too far with this around 2012-13 and walked it back. NCAA needs to do similarly.

Or put the QB in an Ace Ventura Joe Arpaio style hot pink tutu.

Roughing the Passer calls are out of ******* control.

If you treat a QB like a football player, its roughing in 2026.

Sam Leavitt approaches the LOS and a Kentucky backer in turn green dogs his scrambling ***?

Just pop up and throw it at the literal last second for a free 15 yards. "Hit was high" he hit him in the chest / shoulder. You know, to disrupt the pass.

All Refs across conferences are wrong on this and this needs to change or the QB needs to not be allowed to scramble for yards anymore.

Given there are option offenses, the former is obviously the only path forward.

Either that or 100% flag football 7on7.
See roughing qb calls that are ridiculous every game.

It should be a good game. I just have no faith in Riley as a coach or that defense.

UCLA is a way better team this year but neither USC or UCLA are championship caliber.

It’s why going to 24 team playoff is going to get ugly.

24 will lead to a ton of close 1rd games then blowouts as those sorry teams play real top teams. Just more money for tv, leagues and players. It’s all about the money, not the product in the field.

Basically makes conferences pointless. No more pride in winning your conference. 3 and 4 loss teams getting into the playoffs.

Every iteration of the playoffs has had blowouts; those are basically inevitable. Conferences won’t be pointless because you still play 3/4ths of your schedule in conference.

Under a 24 team playoff the top 8 teams would have a bye and then a home game. Winning your conference guarantees you a bye and a home game instead of potentially 2 road games before the quarterfinals.

Yeup, although conference championship games will be eliminated. Seeding matters a ton now.

Could even argue that the first round is something more akin to a playin round with the final 16 being the real start.
