You might wanna go back and watch that game. Caused the turnover in Wilson gets the late hit that negates that they score the next play.
We had Lopez dead to rights in the backfield multiple times and missed about 20 tackles to extend drives.
Lofton loafing it wouldn't even be relevant if we finish plays.
The good news is that's fixable

The narrative will be the ACC sucks and all Wake did was hold their own with another overrated ACC team

Basically.

The problem we have is:
a) teams absolutely up their game when they play us (for whatever reason - they were content to lay down when Clemson / FSU were the dominant powers)
b) the ACC has a reputation problem. It's been full of good to really good teams for a number of years, but they're all seen as 'mid' by the general public.

If you run into a good / really good team on a so-so day you lose.
