The biggest issue with the west coast teams not in the Big10 is that it has opened that part of country to recruits that the Fresno States and SDSUs used to nab because they were relative unknowns.
It is kind of what happened to Rutgers and Maryland when they joined the Big10. Their local prep talent getting more exposure from the new conference.
ECU is a different issue. They are actually supported well but they sit in a state where there are many schools from bigger conferences nearby.

Everything about them is boring. Even Smith. He’s not electric. And Ball state is pure trash. Not impressed at all. Ball state has no passing game whatsoever. Or running game for that matter
 
Those mediocre-to-bad MAC teams would get housed by the top of FCS like South Dakota State, Montana State, Montana and a few others
 
UF vs FAU tn should be interesting. FAU had the most prolific offense last year and return their key guys.

UF has guys at WR and RB. But that O has a ceiling because of Philo and Jones. Neither are anything but above average QBs on their best day.
