**** man another ****** tailgate.
**** man another ****** tailgate.
Rain probably helps you guys. A wet track could limit our speed sweep's to the outside
We're not going to make any excuses about the weather, and both teams had to deal with it, but I'll tell you that it did impact our gameplan and our performance. We have to do a better job at responding to adversity and managing the variables, and that starts with me. We'll analyze all aspects of responding to outside conditions. I'm really proud of our guys for fighting through the conditions - we got better today.
At the end of the day, it's all about competition. And, right now, we are where we want to be. Does that mean we can't get better? No. Does this mean we are happy with where we are at? No. We need to take this as a learning experience, just like everything else we do. Get back to work on Monday and keep on teaching, keep on developing the players.
We were dealing with an exotic storm, really a tough situation. I thought we didn't stick with our identity and trust our process enough. Again, don't want to make excuses, but with a young quarterback, a guy that's not accustomed to these conditions being from California, a guy that came in and worked his tail off, went from 228,225 pounds to 210, 207 pounds, worked his tail off to get ready, I thought we needed to do more to help him. That starts with me.
