we will blow out app state

i checked out app state's last 4 recruiting classes...littered with 2 stars all over with a couple of 3 stars sprinkled in. talent-wise it shouldn't even be close.

You could check every recruiting class ever for App State and would never find a 4 or 5 star recruit because we've never signed one - not one 4 or 5 star ever. You are correct that from the perspective of star status of recruits this game should not be close. Thankfully, the game is played on the field and not with press clippings and recruiting videos.

We still have things to work on for sure; however, I'm hoping we'll give Miami our best game.

If you're coming to Boone (I know most of you are offended even at the mention of our town while others know any weekend in the NC mountains can be fun), I wish you safe travels. Here's to a well-played game from both teams, no injuries, and (ok, this one may be a long shot) good officiating.

Fau went 3-9 last year. App state went 10-2. They might have similar talent from a recruiting standpoint but App st is a much better football team than fau. I'm pretty confident that on a neutral field they'd be favored over UVA and duke

App State shouldn't score more than 10 points.

Miami QB, RBs, WRs, and TEs are all better than Tennessee.

If their D holds Miami under 35 I'll be shocked. If they score over 10 points I'll be shocked. Key for App State is to keep the game close. If Miami goes up early and emotionally take app State out of the game it will be a blowout which is what i think will happen

I hope you're right.

If we play like we did today, we're gonna be in dogfight.

fau offense >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>appy offense. no way they score.

Just start with the run game and play pass to Herndon, Njoku, and Williams, then go up top or out wide. Rich't didn't have rhythm early and it didn't seem like he and Brad were on the same page. Adversity is good early in the year against a local team with Fl kids and decent coaching. FAU's talent wasn't the best but they played us tough and our defense stood talll. That front 7 goes hard and the DBs are game. I like the intensity on that side of the ball.

Everyone will get better with each game and I expect to see much better execution on Saturday.

Duke lost to WF

Just line up and beat the dude in front of you early on. Create 1 on 1s and play the game the way it should be played. Stop the penalties and Miami should win. Richt needs to tighten up his game.

Our D took it to FAU. Everytime I looked another one of their players was laid out on the turf. Their trainer made his money last night.

They have one playmaker on offense. Marcus Cox running back. They have nothing else. He is not that good and wouldn't get any carries if he were here. Their D is pretty good.

I want to see Herndon and Njoku involved more. If we really run the ball as well as we showed against FAU and FAMU then we should be able to pick teams apart in the middle of the field with them leading the way...and it would hide our lack of depth at WR

And they won their conference. FAU played them tough in Boone last year btw despite their record.

#1 : App State came in second in conference last season due to a home loss to Arkansas State. State is notorious for ****ting the bed in out of conference play only to put it together in conference.

#2 : App State has never played Florida Atlantic University and are in different conferences. App finished 11-2 and beat an ODU team 49-0 last year that FAU only beat by 3.

#3 : The App St and Tennessee game was close because Apps defensive scheme wrecked the Tennessee offensive line. This is due to play calling and the type of players App has. OLB's that run 4.5 and two inside backers who are sure tacklers. If your offensive line had issues with FAU you are almost certain to have issues with App. I'll venture a guess that App's defensive front seven will be in the top 3 you play all season (FSU, Notre Dame). This isn't blind optimism if you check out defensive rankings for last season and against Tennessee.

...and Tennessee beat VT because VT is soft. They were up 14-0, put the ball on the ground, and folded. They lost 4 fumbles and Tennessee capitalized. VT actually dominated the stat sheet. Unfortunately, the TO stat was also one where they led. Giveaways, not takeaways. Tennessee still had very little offense.

UT running the same **** play over and over didn't hurt App State's chances. UT played some pathetic football, and nearly lost because of it.

Adjustments will be made. This isn't Golden and Donofrio getting these guys ready for this team.

Run game keeps its momentum going. Kaaya makes the throws he should make. App St. QB suffers a collapsed lung.

Miami by 20.

Your D rankings don't mean much when you play a crap schedule. Did you play anybody good last year?

If you watch the App-UTk game, there is an obvious uptick in offensive efficiency that may not be present in the stat sheet. App didn't pass the ball the past two weeks because they didn't have to. Against UTk the plan was to limit the number of times UT had the ball, don't turn it over and force turnovers (4 forced fumbles, only 1 recovered, 1 INT).

VT is soft as stated above but the narrative that UTk was simply unprepared is taking credit away from App and is simply a way for the National Media to have a "Told ya they was good" moment. Tennessee was outplayed in the trenches and it took a missed FG, extra point, and a fumble recovery in their end zone in overtime to win. They were outplayed and the fact they did well against VT doesn't mean that Week 1 was due to not being prepared.

Clemson, Arkansas State, Georgia Southern. When adjusted (Advanced) statistics show that App still has a top Defense regardless of competition, I will engage in the "well who did you play". For comparison, Miami allowed 58 points to Clemson, App allowed 41. App allowed 13 to UTk in regulation, VT allowed 45.
