We turned it around

The bar is pretty low around these parts lol
It is low but that was also the bar coming into the season. Most would be happy 7-5 or 8-4 coming in. Still attainable though we are not looking very good on O recently. Really our biggest weakness is QB. D is night and day from anything we've had over the past several years even with our weakness at the corners. Remember defense travels and that is currently our strength with 3 road games remaining.

Given our remaining schedule 6-6 wouldn't be much of a collapse since they are all quality teams, I think 7-8 wins a decent bowl will be a good season for us
Never thought there would be a day where a Cane would say 7-8 wins would be a good season. Manny won 8 his second year (with 2 less games) and 7 his last and that wasn't good enough. People either have been lulled to sleep or are BIG Mario homers.

Also GT is better than advertised.
Holy f^ck…

The bar is WAY TOO LOW HERE….

They lost to Bowling Green man. BOWLING GREEN. They are absolutely not better than advertised.

Cocaine Kiffin beat them by 25 (who’s quietly 7-1 and would have been a better HC down here, but I digress).

The ACC still sucks, and we’re an average team in the grand scheme of college football. We are scratching and clawing with teams at or under .500 that should be blown out of the water.

If this team was good, we’d be 8-0. We’re two coin flips from 4-4. We’re also a GT disaster from 7-1. A lot of volatility and luck in both directions.

Just keep winning, but Jesus are expectations in the gutter on this board.

Who had us beating TAM and Clemson, much less out-muscling them (the latter with a TF QB)?

There's a difference between expectations record-wise and the reality of how we play as a team. Most expectations had us at 6-2 by now, but the reality is we're playing team football at a higher level than our record suggests. We just need our QB to get healthy and stop throwing multiple interceptions every game.

We are not even 2 years into the rebuild. And we see significant improvement’s. Both sides of the ball are in the top 25 in almost every statistic. We are 6-2. Our best players are our young Mario players. We are in the right direction. People wasting their time to continue to ***** and moan after a win will never be happy.

With TVD at QB we will be lucky to get 7-8 wins, he's easily a bottom 5 QB in the power 5 at this point

And who's fault is that? Why haven't we recruited better at QB? Our current QB recruit isn't elite either. TVD was flirting with Bama. Why no portal QB? Also, he didn't look nearly as bad under Lashlee.

The inevitable expectation debates always come in to play here and frankly those comments rub me the wrong way (pause)

It’s been 20 years since we were a significant program. What expectations are we supposed to have?

After every single post in this boards history should we have someone say “raise your expectations!”?

Why? Because of the “Miami Standard”? Because we invested 80 million into a coach?

The Miami standard is investing 80 million into a coach that’s never really won anything without a job search

So yeah. My ****** expectations are lowered. So what?
