I told you in text

“The heel ND got heat for weeks then Miami got them in the blue steel cage for the payoff of the story line” . Like most matches getting the payoff the swerve was in. Kinda like Mike Tyson being with degeneration X but turned on then to help Stone Cold win the belt . Hunter ( HHH) Yurachek was playing the part of Tyson. Last minute swerve that left everyone in shock. Vince McMahon would’ve been proud at how Yuracheck crapped on ND’s head.

No, they're just incompetent morons. This wasn't some grand illusion. They just can't think critically.
This is mostly true. But I remember telling you they wanted Miami AND Notre dame. From what I hear the committee was aware of whatever Ty Simpson has been dealing with and thought Auburn would get it done. Regardless, from what I know Miami was always going to find its way in. Just had to make a production out of it.

I said it before the comittee isnt that smart they are predicitng most of the time which is why we were so low when we lost to SMU

They
1. Expected us to lose one of our last 4 games
2. Protected bama in case BYU won
3. Expected ND to be received more positively than they were hence why they were always in front of us with similar records and us winnign the H2h.

Same thing with 2023 where FSU were snubbed

The entire time they kept FSU ahead of Bama bc they predicted FSU would lose a game. When FSU did not lose they just had to say **** it and kick them out with the Jordan Travis Excuse

Serious question...

What was the "payoff"?

Bigger ratings for the final rankings show?
IMO, protecting the $$$ for the $EC. That was the payoff. When they moved Bama up from 10 to 9 after struggling mightily to beat an awful auburn team, I knew that either Miami or ND was out.

They had to protect Bama because they didn’t know what would happen with BYU/TT.

If bama had stayed 10th and BYU beat TT. Then they would have had no choice but to kick out a “meh” $EC team that they knew would not have been able to beat UGA. Had bama beaten UGA, then BYU/TT winner don’t matter because, in that scenario, bama jumps ND easily (best UGA) and BYU jumps ND easily (best TT).

But they needed an insurance plan. By jumping flipping bama and ND, no matter what happened in $EC champ game nor what happened in BYU/TT, they protected bama. Had BYU beaten TT, BYU goes in and ND/Miami out.

The monkey wrench came when BYU got manhandled and now they had a dilemma, keep ND and make regular season h2h meaningless, or have Miami jump ND and **** off only ND.

And that’s what we got. And ND played hook, line and sinker into their plans by throwing a conniption fit on the ACC (which had nothing to do with it) and on Miami (which beat them h2h, so legitimately should be ahead of them). What the ND AD should have done is go off on the $EC and their BS about a 3 loss bama team in the CFP after struggling mightily in their last 4 games. But we know ND are all pu**ies.

Why did they move Alabama ahead of Notre Dame for a close win over a bad Auburn team? Seem like they were just setting up the flip.
But would they have done this if we didn’t stomp Pittsburgh? I do feel like the committee slowly moved us up from when we started at #18, but they did so with good reason. We were blowing teams out and Notre Dame was just chilling in the top 10 with two losses despite getting handled by us week 1. The gap was too wide. Our two losses were never as bad as the media or ND faithful wanted to argue. SMU made the CFP last year, was ranked in the preseason, and beat us in OT with some of the worst officiating you’ll ever see. They finished 8-4.

We lost to Louisville by 3 and played about as awful as humanly possible. Louisville also handed James Madison their lone loss. So that’s an 8-4 team with 2 wins over CFP teams including us. Oh and they absolutely stomped big bad SEC rival Kentucky 41-0. Can someone explain how Louisville wasn’t ranked in the Top 25 to finish the season but 8-4 Missouri is? Give. Me. A. Break. At 4-1 with one OT loss to ranked Virginia, the Cards should have been ranked heading into our game but didn’t receive a single vote in the AP. If this isn’t proof of the bias in the AP ranking system I don’t know what is.

Top 5 pro wrestlers of all time. Go.

I’ll go, in no particular order, Shawn, Bret, Eddie, Kurt and then RVD as the wild card just based on innovation in ring and coming up a little differently.

I ascribe it more to corruption. They clearly wanted Bama and ND in over Miami, and were doing argumentative gymnastics to avoid dealing with the H2H argument. But when Duke lost, they were capitulated and sacrificed ND to get an ACC team in.

I personally don’t buy the ACC stuff. We were in even if UVA won. I said it for 2 weeks on here, I was adamant for a long time that they’d never leave out a 10-2 ND team, but once it got closer and closer that we could get directly next to them, I knew they could never make it ND 10 and Miami 11. That literally goes against every rule of sports. The only possible way ND was out is if they had Miami directly behind them for the last spot. And it happened. Hate to see it for those ********.

This is mostly my perspective as well. Once it came down to one spot for Miami or ND they couldn’t leave Miami out without damaging the integrity of the sport. I think most ND fans, if they’re being honest, would have to admit that. And I don’t blame them for crashing out for getting bumped down two spots and out at the tail-end of a 10-game winning streak. We’d be doing the same here. But Bevacqua is not just a fan and his handling of the situation was very poor.
