We have a serious DC problem on our hands

There’s lots of overreactions on here, I actually don’t feel as bad about the team as a whole. Buuuuttt, baker concerns me, he’s the spot I see possible issues.

I don’t like consistently standing de’s up, it’s not natural. I also see more cushion at db and the disguising is awful.

Him giving huge cushions , while blitzing is the Oklahoma coward like ****. Giving a cushion and blitzing defeats the purpose , you’re either aggressive or not , just like you aren’t half pregnant.

Red flags with this hire.

Blind homers like yourself are the reason we have a bum like him as HC to begin with. Go look at the recruiting rankings.

Fans don't know how to interpret the recruiting rankings, and what they mean toward roster talent level. That is the issue and will continue to be the issue. It lends itself to all the ridiculous summaries and forecasts around here.

Being 15th in relation to 60th doesn't mean much of anything. It's like a swimming race with hands hitting the wall in a blur. I use that analogy frequently but it fits. Somebody was technically 16th and made it into the semifinals instead of barely outside in 17th. But when you check the final times they were separated by tenths and hundred of tenths all the way back to 30th or lower.

That is the situation with recruiting. There is far greater meaningful separation from 1st to 15th, than from 15th to 60th. You're either getting a steady stream of truly elite players, or you are amongst the Crowd. It is the reason the power rating gap right now nationally is 18 points from the top rated team in the power ratings (Alabama) to the 15th team (Texas), but then it drops only 14 more points to the 60th team (Tulsa).

Consequently we may giggle when we see the December or February recruiting rankings with the Canes far above other ACC foes. But it is hardly linear. Unless the Canes make a steady habit of Top 5 in those rankings then we have no birthright to national supremacy or nearby.

When there are so many 3 star guys nationally that should tell you the services basically have no idea and can't separate them. It's like a cop out...when in doubt make him a 3. Recruiting rankings are at a far lower and more primitive level than team power ratings, which have been around a lot longer and have many more companies specializing in them.

It is not a "cop out" that is why players get a percentage in addition to the 3 stars. There is a massive difference between a 15th ranked class and a 60th ranked class. I tend to agree with you when you start getting outside of 60 though.
