Just hope the offense keeps it up because no D Manny's defense will not win for us
I say more like between 2-12 yards. The extra 5 yards you mention were gained because of missed tackles. We can’t cover a receiver between 7-17 yards.

Defense is terrible. We have young offensive players willing this teams to wins. Defense came up big at the very end but 587 yards is a complete joke.
FYI Kenneth Walker scored 5 TD’s today against Michigan.
He’s a lot like Al Golden, he’d be ok if he just changed the defense and the coordinator. Right?Manny will be a good coach if we JUST let him rehaul an entire side of the ball….again….for the 3rd year in a row
Didnt he transfer cause WF is pretty well air raid while MSU is more traditional.Walker is the real deal. How does that guy not even start at WF?
I see that too. If our O gets stopped, it‘s over.Just hope the offense keeps it up because no D Manny's defense will not win for us
They don’t care man…they don’t care… talking about yards is like AI talking about practice.
The linebackers can not cover the crossing route. if a team can complete that play we are in trouble on defense. That and they don’t fill gaps well on inside I running plays. The linebackers are holding this team back.It is, but let's not do the thing where every opponent we beat is suddenly trash, especially when everyone was predicting a Pitt blowout. That was the #3 offense and a QB who was getting Heisman hype. They average 45+ ppg, the D gave up 34 (really 27 as they got gifted a TD to start).
It was pretty much the defensive gameplan I would have expected against Clemson last year - very little chance of shutting down the O ( no one else could either), so try to win a shootout and the D just needs to force turnovers. Don't worry about the yards, worry about the points. Not happy with them getting so many wide open looks so a lot could be improved, but at the end of the day, UM kept them to more than 11 points below their scoring average and we won the game.
No, d would have given up 16 TDS as well. This is worse than coach d.
And that’s before Pit lol
so what I am gathering from the posters above is Miami being ranked # 77 or worse in total defense is acceptable. We are truly living in the participation trophy era.And that’s before Pit lol
I’d say 80’s after today but yeah.so what I am gathering from the posters above is Miami being ranked # 77 or worse in total defense totally acceptable. We are truly living in the participation trophy era.
And yet, even compared to those teams, this defense is still in the bottom third. While it happens across the country every weekend, it doesn’t happen to the same team every weekend. To Manny’s defense, however, it does. Both teams on pace for 500 plus. It was bad today, but it happens all over football every weekend.
