We fell in the polls

Not to suggest we're better than we are, but we did have a little something to do with moving those teams down to 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th.

It's gonna be a tough November. Time for good players to step up.
Time for good coaches to show they deserve their jobs.

Between unc wake vt gt and ncstate we need to at least go 3-2. I’m expecting it. But we need that and we end up 9-3 and then a bowl game which we obviously need to win. Vt and unc will be really tough. We have to split those games at the minimum. Problem is the bye week is death for us and we might lose to the Wolfpack
Sounds realistic. Hopefully we buck the analytics and come out with only one loss and make it 10-2.

Every failed coach has a defining image of their time here when we knew they weren’t the one. Think of Golden scratching his head and looking flustered, or looking down shaking Dabos hand after losing 58-0. Or Donofrio flipping through his 20 page playbook. Or Enos having his play sheet ruined in a rain game.

This will be one of Manny’s defining images when we look back on his tenure.

Here's the reality:

In a 15 team conference our 4 conference wins have come against the 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th place teams. We play the 4th, 5th & 6th place ACC teams in the remaining five games.

That both merits the drop in the polls and gives this team all the opportunities it will need to climb in the polls over the coming 6 weeks.
A post that finally makes sense. Well done.

I’ve said it last week, and will repeat it here (I hope I’m wrong, but my gut says different): we lose 2-4 more games, unless the coaches wake up.

A very little something. There's 4 conference games in the books. That's enough to start showing some real data. The fact that all of our wins are against the very bottom and that all of our remaining wins are against the upper half is noteworthy IMO.

But as we both note - It'll all come out in the wash over the next six weeks.

ND is undefeated but still has to play Clemson. Again, it will all come out in the wash over the next 6 weeks.
i agree im just saying its a bit unfair to criticize our wins but not call out NDs thats all. they've played similar competition and we actually looked better than they did in two of our three common opponents. i do agree they'll get skunked against Clemson and itll just come down to records

The FIU ones as well but this just symbolizes way too much after that performance last night.

I don't care about the polls.

If we keep winning, we'll move up.

I worry that we won't keep winning unless we improve quickly.
I stated last week, VA was gonna be tougher than Pitt. If we continue to play like last night against the next 3 teams, we lose.

BYU is a joke. Who of their wins warrants such a high rank?
3-3 Navy?
3-2 Troy?
3-3 Lousiana Tech?
3-2 UT San Antonio?
2-1 Houston?
2-4 Western Kentucky?

What a joke.
BYU actually has a very good offense.

Their QB Zach Wilson is arguably the best QB in college Football, he has equal if not better arm talent than Trevor Lawrence.

Not saying they should be ranked #10 in the country, but they're probably being rewarded for having a really good QB.

You are a wiseman. Always good posts. Keep it up.

Last I looked we have played the only elite team in the conference. Rest including ND have been inconsistent in spite of what their record is.

Brian Kelly should be sweating like a blind ******* in a fish market about the Clemson game because his boys are going to get wrecked. As I said, great time to be a bettor as that #3 fake rank is going to make the spread much closer than it should be.
