And not just A&M. They were giving them every chance possible to stay in the game. I had an actual A&M fan and a neutral Michigan fan both tell me that calling was redic, so it’s far from just orange and green shades. So many obviously missed calls, some terrible calls, and at least one crucial PI that we almost didn’t get.

Mentioned this in the game thread but one of you guys with vid chops should absolutely make a vid compiling every single one of these missed or terrible calls. We can spam it on social media, and start putting consistent pressure on officiating. Video should end by thanking and crediting all the refs by name and face.

It’s 2023, we have high definition replays available instantly from every angle, AI that can process video, etc. There’s no reason officiating should be this subject to obvious bias and human error. Fans need to start demanding more accountability.
There was MASSIVE HOLD (aka tackle to the ground) by UM almost at the beginning of the kick return for TD ... so let's not complain too much!

15 yd penalty hitting QB on false start was weak. It’s loud. Do a better job of stopping the play, period. Few other missed calls. Both ways. Got JW review right.

Side note: If the rule calls for tacking on 10 yards for defensive holding on top of play, it needs to be changed. Not a dead ball foul. Can’t double dip.

There was one particular play where we definitely caught a break from the refs, it was the beginning of the 2nd quarter (about 12:30 in the clock), 3rd and 6. #84 (Mccormick?) sets an extremely obvious pick that helped Young pick up a huge first down. 84 had basically stopped running then stepped to his right and stuck out his hip to disrupt the defender covering Young. One of the announcers noticed it and said "it was an incidental pick" but it was not particularly subtle.

TAMU was setting picks all day too so it went both ways, but if they'd thrown the flag on that 3rd down, we'd have been in big trouble as TAMU had just gone up 17-7 and had all the momentum. On balance the refs definitely helped TAMU more than UM as they also called some ticky tack PI that they didn't call on TAMU, but IMO we've been screwed much worse by refs in a lot of other games.
You said it yourself the refs were letting A&M get away with it too. That’s fine if you call it down the middle like a tight or loose (pause) strike zone. The problem becomes when they were allowed to hand check all night long yet on the deep shot pass break up with Kam and Brown they call us for PI. Same thing with the lack of PI on Harrell when he got tackled on that 3rd down ball. Or the ifffy holding on Mauigoa (might have been the 1st one called vs the constant holding against our DTs.

And the McCormick pick was nothing more than him sitting down in the zone looking at the QB. If he was facing the sideline and stepped left or right you have an argument. They didn’t call it because he was in a position to be thrown to.

Yeah Restrepo sold his mesh a lot better.. Cam.. not so much

They missed a pretty big call on us, too, so I'll call it even :ROFLMAO:
Exactly. Refs could throw a flag on every other play if they wanted. Yes there were missed calls on both sides(more for Miami). Its the stupid, self inflicted penalties that will continue to kill Miami

Go watch the 10 minute highlight on YouTube. There were plenty of calls the refs shallowed their whistles on that benefited us big time.

*****ing about refs is bottom of the barrel fandom

The 3rd down false start non call that they threw a TD pass on in the 2H was an abortion.

PS: Stadium better start showing some god **** replays or going to games is going to become as extinct.
Stadium experience is horrible. This has to change if they want to ever fill that place up. It absolutely sucks.
