Per the Miami Herald, we are currently at 77 scholarships "Golden said the Hurricanes "are right around" 77 scholarships for the year, but "still working through it." Miami was docked nine scholarships over three years by the NCAA for the Nevin Shapiro scandal. It's likely Miami will opt to take its penalty as seven scholarships this year and one more each in 2015 and 2016"

Heck yea. This class already seemed to be limited. I hope we can get some better Front 7 Defenders in the upcoming classes. 2015 could surprise, but I dont really see us getting a whole lot better on the defensive side with the ways its going with some targets.
 
At least Golden has navigated us through the Shapiro crap. Taking the 7 scholly hit his year is huge. One a year for the next two years is nothing.

Yep. He did a great job losing all those players from our roster for drugs and rape and whatever else. Really navigated that beautifully.

Is what it is....Coaches can't hold your hand all the time.
 
I'm extremely happy taking the big hit the 1st year and getting past this crap! Next coupe of years we got some big time recruits already committed and I expect others will want to play with them and try to get into the class. This means we will be able to get more of them with more schollies to offer.

So this means no early enrollees this year correct? I'm good with that unless some big DTs magically commit and want to enroll early.
 
I thought 9 meant that he can be at 82 for 3 years in a row and that satisfies the "9" requirement. No?

Conversely, if he's at 77 this year, doesn't that mean he can be at 84 next year and 85 the year after that and satisfy the "9" requirement?

that's how I understood it.

9 total over these 3 years, but 1 minimum in each year.

So if we're at 77 now that's 8 under, but we still have to be 1 under in 2015 and 2016.

Can't believe we got guys in here gumming El Foldo for "managing" the roster. Did he frame Fig and Blue?

I think I would gamble on spreading it over 3 years and hope NCAA does the same thing it did for Penn State and USC by reducing scholie numbers. Losing 7 in one year gives Big Al the not enough depth excuse in two years---If he's still here..

I hear what your saying but the bulk of those reductions wasnt by choice olsen beggged to get the boot and figs and blue was out of our control not to mention bunche and sandland and hester transfers.

You can still have early enrollees but they we will count towards this year's class rather than last year's class.
 
Smh, it doesnt MATTER! If you do not have a coach to put then in the right place you can have double the scholarships & it wont matter. If big **** Magee is fired after this year then & only then will it matter.
