Denver Kirkland is a follower, who sort of seems kinda slow honestly..... he committed to Arkansas b/c Matthew Thomas told him he was going away to college to USCw, so he wanted to do the "cool" thing and go away for college like Matt Thomas said he was going to do. smh

He threw up the "U" b/c Matthew Thomas did it at the Under Armour Game smh

So then once Matthew Thomas decided at the last minute, b/c of his mom begging him to at least stay in Florida, and committed to FSU, Kirkland said that if he wouldve known that he was going to change his decision, he wouldve committed to FSU too. smh str8 up loser

Matthew Thomas new Kirkland was a follower and didnt want to tell him but if he was smart he would've b/c why wouldnt you want all the talent you can get to play at the same school with you???

And it looks like Kirkland is a much better player than those coaches thought. Bielema said he was the most gifted pass blocking freshman he'd ever seen. Does that mean that those coaches at UM and FSU "don't know ****?" What about the fans who were hyping up Kirkland?

The coaches know 1000X more than the fans. Everybody knows that. But the coaches are still wrong 50% of the time. ****, coaches frequently disagree with each other about players. That's the nature of the game, and that's why boards like this are fun.

A lot of times, the fans are right and the coaches are wrong. You should know this better than anybody, considering you made those same exact "trust the coaches, ***** your opinion" posts during the Coker era.

There had to be something going on behind the scenes with Kirkland, it just doesn't make sense that he didnt have the opportunity to sign with either FSU or Miami at the end.

Denver Kirkland was going to commit to Miami, thats what the coaches were told, he didnt at the time when he claimed he was going to b/c he wanted to play games like Matthew Thomas.... he couldve committed to FSU, and they wanted him, but since he didnt know Matthew Thomas was committing to them he committed to Arkansas like a dumb ***.

It's not hard to get talented WRs in Florida; it's hard to get the talented WR who is a special player, someone who is a unique playmaker. We've gotten a lot of very good WRs into the program over the past four or five years, how many have we gotten who have the special playmaking ability of a Stacy Coley? I don't know how Kirkland is doing at Arkansas, I don't know he's any better than any of our other young OL. Even if he were extraordinary, which he is not, he would not have the ability to change a game the way a Coley could. I also received the impression, confirmed by the word I received from somebody who used to have very good contacts in the program (volunteered for years in the recruiting office), and might still, that he doesn't even know if Kirkland really had an offer.

Don't necessarily disagree. It's certainly a choice I wouldn't want to have to make as a coach. There are a lot of factors that go into decisions like this (e.g., roster numbers), but I'm still going to make sure I can protect my QB and have some sort of running game before I worry about getting playmakers on the outside.
