Many of y'all forgot about this dude but right now just from a few plays at the UAB game he looks more instinctive then #44 or #53.Not sure if he is all the way recovered from his 2nd knee injury or how physical he remains, but he looked good in limited action. After watching 44 and 53, and seeing the team speed of Louisville 17 & 6 need to be on the field.

Its pretty awesome that he's even playing, nevermind cracking the two-deep and playing well.

Jennings, Steed...two guys that weren't a part of the narrative at linebacker until basically a week or two before the season. I don't know if they are going to hold up all year and play All-Conference level ball, but we'll see. The surprise depth at the spot and ability to rotate a bunch of LBs in might offset the lack of standouts right now, idk.

btw - this isn't the last year for anyone. This year is a freebie for pretty much everyone.

Thought he looked good too

LB rankings -

1. Brooks
2. Jennings
3. Steed
4. McCloud
McCloud doesn't really benefit us on the field unless we're playing a slow, power run team. If he's not being asked to move around a lot in space, then fine. Otherwise and which is going to be more likely the case, we are going to need guys who can diagnose and move quickly.

We need speed at the second level and that's just not McCloud. I'd give those reps to Huff.
