We've got a long way to go, but I would love to hear some thoughts on how we match up with LSU for the 1st game. Who are their playmakers? How good is their D projected to be? Other intangibles...? etc., etc.

Captain Obvious here, but whether we win or lose will depend on our QB play. I really do believe that our OL will be stronger next year, we'll have more Offensive fire power and all aspects of our D improve with the possible exception of the DT position. If we get a QB who can make a few plays and then manage the game, I think we're too much for them based on what I saw of the Tigers this year and my general lack of respect for their HC.

Anyhoo, thoughts...?

This is one year I wish we opened with a cupcake to allow Perry (assuming he starts) to get some game snaps.

They run the ball...ALOT

They play man and love to blitz...ALOT

Their Qb makes Malik look like the second coming of Steve McNair...

Anything else I can help with?

Their Defense will be loaded as usual.

Their Offense loses the starting QB, Top 2 RB's, and Top 3 WR's.

Since they never have much offense it should be a close game. That is good for us because we have done well in the close ones. We have a sec type coming plus another to add to Homer and our wild cat master. Our qb will need to be able to play getting hit, because he will be.

Mark has beaten LSU, even under Saban. That is good. I expect him to do good against sec teams. He is use to them and should have a chip on his shoulder for those games. This is a big one for us. Sets the stage for season and early rankings. Beating them will erase the sting of those three losses. It is early so our players will be fresh. Thins helps against the depth issue and helps freshmen playing because Lester in the season they have to deal with never having played that long a season before. I think we win this one.

I just hope no one brings up the transitive property and compares our game against Notre Dame to theirs.

It's going to be very low scoring. They lose Guice and Williams at RB and don't really have any stud RB waiting in the wings to replace them. We will have trouble against them in the trenches and should be starting a QB in his first start, but I don't see them scoring much on us.

Then again, if we continue our current trend, we might just turn whatever terrible QB LSU trots out into an early Heisman contender.

This is our MVP...

So our D will make their qb look like the second coming of Tom Brady...

As long as the RB #5 ain't staying easy W

Guice is gone, there top 2 receiver are seniors so they are gone #7 & #83
Their backup senior RB is gone along with their QB Etling.
They are loosing there LT.
Their starting DE & DT are leaving.
Key's their LB is leaving and likely will be a top 15 pick.
Both starting CB's have declaring Donte Jackson & Kevin Tolliver

I live in Louisiana and know a lot of ****y LSU fans that were very confident about there chances vs us before this season.
Now they are not so confident after there season but I've spoken to a lot of them that still think LSU will win because
they are LSU like that means somthing. They will be opening there season with a young QB with little to no experience as
well, either a true Soph. or red-shirt Freshman.

They lose their top 2 players to the NFL in (RB) Derrius Guice and (DE) Arden Key. Both should be 1st round picks.

The senior starters they lose include:

(QB) Danny Etling
(RB) Darrel Williams - technically a backup but plays a bunch
(WR) DJ Chark - their best receiver
(WR) Russell Gage
(LT) KJ Malone
(DE) Christian LaCouture
(DT) Greg Gilmore
(LB) Donnie Alexander
(LB) Corey Thompson
(S) John Battle

Junior starters they lose to the draft are:

(RB) Derrius Guide
(RT) Toby Weathersby
(CB) Donte Jackson
(CB) Kevin Tolliver

Overall, they're losing a lot of their top tacklers on defense and their #1 QB, RB and WR. Unless they get some crazy QB transfer in the off season, I see LSU taking a slight step backwards next year and we should favored against them to start the season.
