A true story.

Houston clearly has the better athlete’s, but the defensive alignment had me laughing as the corners were lining up in another zip code. Also, the linebackers are positioned to make tackles 6 yards or so downfield, if they are lucky. Additionally, Houston’s defensive linemen are playing patty cake with Fresno’s offensive linemen.

There hasn’t been a play when the Fresno State Quarterback couldn’t take the snap and lob over to a wide receiver for 5, 6, 7 yard gain or more. That aside, Fresno’s receivers are running freely through Houston’s secondary and are typically not confronted until at least 10 yards downfield.

There have been almost zero blitzes or stunts so the quarterback is simply setting up camp in the pocket every time he drops back to pass.

At any rate, I found myself thinking how much that idiocy reminded me of when D’Onofrio was leading the Canes pathetic defense, when it dawned on me that, that train wreck IS the defensive coordinator for Houston.

Of course with 50 seconds left in the half, D’Onofrio lined up in his infamous…prevent defense! Like clockwork Fresno’s offense marched down field, unimpeded, and he simply GAVE Fresno a field goal and the lead.

How in the world that guy has a job at any level of football is one of the great mysteries.

In fairness, Major Appelwhite’s offense is just as creative and attacking as D’Onofrio’s defense, which may explain this marriage of two morons.

There are 174 people in the stands.....

Wife's employer was literally trying to give away tickets to the game and couldn't. We took a couple tickets, sitting in this sh#tty stadium way up top, face value of tickets says $45 each. Lol that's like twice as much as I paid to watch Miami UVA at Hard Rock, and I had better seats there.

Sounds familiar

"Our D made some big stops but provided some key penalties also that led to scores. I do wish our D was more aggressive and played with applying more pressure as in the previous 4 years. Not as big a fan of this defensive scheme but they have played much better post the 2nd half of the Memphis game."

Only dorito could turn a beast like Oliver into a patty cake player.

Still can't believe Apple white hired that bum, you would think the guy would do some checking around first, I always thought he was smart but he proved me wrong. Houston has some great athletes, what a pity, maybe we should be taking bets on whether DoNo gets a second year. I think Major see"s his mistake and fires him in the next few weeks

His talent transcended the doritoery....he won the Outland Trophy was on several all american teams.

Your point is spot on! It is not hard to imagine how insanely dominate Oliver would have been if not for the clueless one. I suspect an NFL team is going to get a frustrated, ready to destroy defensive lineman after having been shackled and held down by D'Onofrio.
